Municipalities in Southern Finland and Archipelago

Southwest Finland has the oldest cultural tradition of any region in Finland. This is where the recorded history of Finland begins and where the oldest traces of habitation have been found. Although rich in scenic diversity as well as cultural history, this is also a forward-looking region where high technology industries thrive.

The city of Turku is big enough to offer all the facilities and attractions of a lively metropolis, including excellent island and riverside restaurants and luxurious hotels. Yet Turku is also sufficiently compact to explore on foot or by using some of the best-planned public transport in the world.
