Yes, Marimekko is the crown jewel, and you might have heard of Nanso and Halti, but there’s quite a buzz beyond the mainstream. IVANAhelsinki and Hanna Sarén are perhaps the best-known of the younger, expanding fashion companies. Finnish design isn’t just something you see — it’s something you experience. It begins the moment you arrive, follows you everywhere and stays with you long after you’ve gone.

can you festival?

From mobile phone throwing to wife carrying, swamp football to air guitar, table drumming to rubber boot throwing… the list goes on. Finland is famous for its crazy events. However, you should also try Finnish summer’s nightless night music festivals – you will never be the same.

A bit eastern a bit western

Taste Salmiakki and lörtsy

Salmiakki is a salty liquorice sweet that is black or dark brown in colour. Lörtsy is a thin, half-moon shaped meat pie originally invented in Savonlinna, eastern Finland. We know they sound strange, but you’ll love them both.

get your game on!

Together with events like SLUSH and the innovation technology oriented culture, Finland is the next big thing in the game industry.
