Ski Centres

From the ski slopes of arctic Lapland to the well-marked cross country tracks in every part of the country, from the reindeer and snowmobile safaris to snowboarding, when it comes to snow, Finland is as cool as it gets.

Finland is not famous for its mountains. But for such a vertically challenged country we have a surprising number of ski resorts – over a hundred – where you can enjoy all forms of winter fun on skis.

The Finnish ski resorts are practically guaranteed to have snow for the whole season as our hills are covered with snow for about 200 days a year. There is hardly any queuing for the ski lifts, no rush at the slopes and you'll find slopes to fit every skill level.

Levi and Ylläs in Lapland

Levi - a magical winter wonderland situated 170 km above the Arctic Circle is a must for winter enthusiasts. The majority of holidaymakers who have chosen Levi are returning year after year. The reasons are plentiful, since everyone experiences Levi in their own way.

Ylläs has plenty of space to either enjoy a moment of peace and quiet by yourself or have plenty of fun in good company. The Ylläs area consists of seven fells and two original Lappish villages. At 718 m, Ylläs fell itself is one of the highest fells in Finnish Lapland.

Saariselkä, Pyhä-Luosto and Ruka-Kuusamo in Lapland

Saariselkä is Europe's Northernmost Holiday Resort. Inari is an important centre of the fascinating and conspicuous Sámi or Lapp culture.

In Pyhä-Luosto you can explore the two resorts during a single visit to Lapland – and thus enjoy twice the range of guided adventures, ski slopes and cross-country ski trails.

Ruka-Kuusamo - Natural Treasure Trove - Top Draw for Finnish Winter. The Kuusamo area, just south of the Arctic Circle and close to the Russian border, offers a wide variety of winter holiday activities.

Tahko and Vuokatti in Lakeland

Tahko is located in Nilsiä in the Finnish Lakeland area, approximately 50 minutes from Kuopio. Its central location and excellent transport connections make Tahko an easy destination from anywhere.

High quality ski tracks and a wide variety of activities in Vuokatti guarantee an active holiday for the whole family - for the old and the young.  Snowboarders can enjoy the Pipe and the street and there is also a FIS-class slalom slope in Vuokatti.
