Archipelago Weekend Hideaway

Spend two nights on the island of Nagu, the port to the Archipelago trail, at a charming little B&B situated in the countryside village of Gyttja. Take bicycle rides on the small local roads, perhaps visit the seaside village of Kirjainen, or even the main village of Nagu, where you can find many restaurants, shopping huts and the hustle and bustle of the guest harbor in summer time. After a day of activities, you can relax at Västergård B&B's outdoor jacuzzi and garden sauna, and enjoy a delicious warm meal.

Cycle Tour Mariehamn Trail

The six day, seven nights individual cycle tour takes you through Turku and Aland Archipelagos on bike. You can start and end in Turku or Västergård, on the island of Nagu. The peace and tranquillity, particulary in the rugged outer islands, is an unique experience. Along the route there are many interesting tourist attractions. Most of the roads surfaces are paved and the profile of the route is fairly flat. You are welcome to add extra nights at all stops for local biking or additional activities. The tour can also be made by car.

National Park by Bicycle

Feast your eyes on the view from the top off the cliff, the clear wilderness ponds, and rugged rocky hills. Climb an observation tower to watch the uninhabited wilderness from a bird's-eye view and experience the tranquility of our primeval forests. The Repovesi National Park offers something you can't find in the cities — rugged rocks, calm waters, and awesome forest life. Stay Overnight, Into The Wild

Malmbacka is a recently established village of cottages in historical Snappertuna in Southern Finland. It is surrounded by wild animals in a beautiful rural setting. Here you can enjoy our beautiful nature all year round, do some hiking and bicycle trips, spend relaxing vacation days, and experience peace and quiet at its best. You can prepare your food over an open fire and sleep in a cottage or in a charcoal worker’s hut on a sheepskin.

Visit the Forest on a Bicycle

Hit Central Park on two wheels! A half-day tour (about 4 hours) that shows you just how fluently nature integrates with urban life in Helsinki. The proximity of nature and wildlife in Helsinki is an exotic experience. You will learn the fundamentals of Finnish nature while still inside the City borders. You will also see a variety of lifestyles and housing that blend forest and wildlife with everyday life in our beautiful capital. The tour includes a snack and coffee break in the woods, where you can take it easy and inhale the fresh air and enjoy the surrounding green bliss.

Island Hopping by Bike in the Finnish Archipelago

Our cycling tour around the Finnish archipelago, hops from island to island using local ferries. Included in the package is accommodation in a combination of locally-thatched mini-cottages, converted barns, spas, and the city of Turku; bicycle hire with panniers and helmets; detailed route notes; cycling maps; luggage transportation; and 24 hour emergency service.

Discovering Porvoo and its Surroundings by Bike (2–3 Hours)

We will meet at the tourism information desk under Mannerheim’s avenue bridge where we will rent bicycles and helmets (included in our price). Then we will visit the old city of Porvoo and learn about Finnish history and culture. Afterwards we head towards to a small island situated 2 km south of Porvoo. There we will stop and walk into the forest to reach a birdwatching tower. There we can see a natural reserve with protected birds and a beautiful view of Porvoo. We will continue our promenade via Porvoo's skiing resort Kokonniemi before reaching Hammars.

Summer Activities Day Tours

Dark Arctic winters have their counterpart in one of the most iconic of Finnish natural phenomena, the Midnight Sun. Sun does not set for 70 days. The sound of silence combined with the revitalizing rays of the Midnight Sun is nature’s own remedy for the weary soul. With us you can enjoy the nature and do day trips combining activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, fishing. Summer begins in early June. The autumn colours are its best in Septemper.

Fatbiking in Bear Kingdom

Experience a new way of moving in the snow-covered Taiga Forest. During this one week holiday, you will ride purpose-built fatbikes for 80 kilometres in untouched Wilderness. The area is home to several Brown Bears, but luckily they are in deep slumber this time of the year. Enjoy the unspoiled forests and silence while riding your bike right next to the Russian border. On the way, we will see many animal tracks in the snow – and you might even see the Northern Lights dancing in the sky.

Vuoksi Maxi Tour by Bike

This 2-hour tour takes you all the way upstream to Lake Saimaa. You'll hear stories about the river Vuoksi and the Imatra rapids. You'll see the memorials for the English and Scottish racing drivers who died in Imatra as a result of a crash in the Finnish GP. You will learn about the dramatic days of war in the Imatra region and see the beautiful War Veterans' Memorial Park. You will pass the Millennium Babies' Appletree Park, the Orthodox church of St. Nicholas and the Neitsytniemi Mansion. The fishermen's base Mutterinranta and the Industrial Workers' Housing museum are on the route as well.

Fatbike Tours and Rental in Pyhätunturi

Fatbikes – arguably the most fun way to explore snowy forests! Fatbikes are the new fascinating way to enjoy the arctic nature. These easy-to-ride mountain bikes will take you through new-fallen snow with ease. Wide tyres offer a great grip and make the bike very agile – and will but a big grin on your face. You can join a guided tour in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park, or, would you prefer, to rent a bike for independently cruising around in the Pyhä region. Pyhä offers excellent environment for fatbiking. The most exquisite route options are located in Pyhä-Luosto National Park.

Vuoksi Mini Tour by Bike

This 1-hour tour will show you the main attractions of Imatra. The route goes along the beautiful banks of the Vuoksi River. You will hear stories about the river and its rapids. You get to see the memorials of the English and Scottish racing drivers, Vernon Cottle and Jock Taylor, who died while participating in the Finnish GP in Imatra. You will learn about the war-time history of Imatra and see the beautiful War Veterans' Park. This tour can be finished at the Vuoksi Fishing Park where you can have a delicious fish lunch or just coffee or tea.

Tour de Pyhä

Would you like to experience Pyhä in three different ways? Tour de Pyhä consists of mountain biking around Lake Pyhäjärvi (12 km), canoeing along the small river Pyhäjoki (13 km) and hiking a sightseeing route over the Soutaja fell (7 km). We will enjoy a hearty soup and coffee by the riverside. This is a journey of body and mind, where physical activities combine with relaxing nature exploration. The pace will be set to suit all participants. Come awaken your senses at Pyhä!

Kaldoaivi by Fatbikes

Kaldoaivi is Finland’s largest wilderness reserve. It has hundreds of kilometres of off-road tracks created by such livelihoods as reindeer-herding and fishing, offering ideal conditions for mountain biking. Come with us and explore the magnificent nature and diverse history of a true wilderness. We will navigate Kaldoaivi’s best mountain-bike trails: from Utsjoki, over Kaldoaivi’s most renowned fells, and on to the Nuorgam road leading to Njallavaara Fell. The distance covered during the biking expedition will be up to 120 km.

Mountain Biking Action at Iso-Syöte

Iso-Syöte and surrounding area is a great starting point to go out and explore nature by biking. The Iso-Syöte hill, on top of which the hotel is located, gives you magnificent views to all directions. The national park which surrounds the hotel, offers 3 well-marked mountain bike routes to explore through various terrain and from different length and difficulty. New Felt-mountainbikes are available for you to go out and explore these trails. Comfortable accommodation, tasty food, a pool, sauna's and jacuzzi's are waiting for you to relax in and enjoy. During the winter we have Fatbikes.

Hike & Bike Around the Teijo National Park (4 Days)

The Mathildedal Ironworks Village provides memorable experiences, an authentic milieu and an insight into the Finnish lifestyle. Enjoy a walk in the idyllic Mathildedal Ironworks Village. Visit the historical exhibition, the alpaca mill, the local brewery, the bakery and the coffee rostery. Go on a hike in the Teijo National Park, make a campfire, listen to the silence and enjoy the scenery around you. Experience a traditional sauna by the lake or seaside and refresh in the cooling waters. Bike around all three Ironworks Villages in one day: Mathildedal, Teijo, Kirjakkala.

Winter Activity Day Tours

In the winter time, there are a number of activities you can enjoy with us for! Skiing, snow kiting, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, fatbiking, ice fishing, visiting a reindeer herder, sledding... First snow usually falls in October. The Polar Night starts in October and ends in mid-January. The high season for auroras begins in November and lasts until March. Our kite school is open until May.

Outdoor Day Near Helsinki

Only an hour's drive from Helsinki will find you in charming Kanta-Häme, a region perfect for outdoor activities. During the day, our professional guide will help you explore our nature in different ways, including fatbikes and canoes. Between the sports, you can enjoy a lunch or dinner made by our restaurant, which specializes in local food. In the evening you are more than welcome to enjoy our complimentary lakeside sauna!
