Exotic Night in Snow Igloo

Experience an unforgettable night in a Snow Igloo at Lucky Ranch. The location is perfect for stargazing and spotting the Northern Lights. At night, you can crawl into a warm sleeping bag and enjoy the silence. Indoor area and toilet are open during the night. Light breakfast included.

Hunt for Northern Lights and Lappish Barbecue

Come join us for an evening out of the city, as we take you from your hotel to great viewing locations for the best chance to see the spectacular Northern Lights! You will get a chance to try out snowshoes and enjoy a traditional meal of reindeer sausages, boletus mushroom soup, and blueberry tea, all while we watch the skies overhead for those wondrous lights in the sky, the Aurora Borealis!

Aurora Snowmobile Safari

Come and experience the blazing Northern Lights! Your journey starts as darkness falls. Once in the wilderness, we explore the changing skies and with some luck, spot the Northern Lights. The safari covers about 35 km. Warm beverages are served during the safari. Duration: 2–3 hours.

Northern Lights Safari

A memorable snowmobile safari in an enchantingly blue twilight forest. If the sky is clear and luck is on our side, you might see the Northern Lights and thousands of stars twinkling in the sky. The safari includes a break with hot juice for refreshment.

Wilderness Lodge and Northern Lights

This overnight tour will provide you a perfect get-away from the city lights with an opportunity to watch the sky for the whole night. After an early evening departure from Rovaniemi we will drive to the Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge, about 20 minutes away. There, hidden in snow, in the middle of the wilderness, in complete darkness – a private cosy Wilderness Lodge is waiting for us! Traditional Lappish home-made food will be served while waiting for the Northern Lights. We will stay in cosy twin rooms of a traditional Finnish log house, and breakfast will be served in the morning.

Magic of the Northern Lights

Once dusk falls over Northern nature, the magical Northern Lights will appear on the sky. This snowshoe adventure is the perfect way to explore winter landscapes authentically, and with a bit of luck, you might see the amazing show of Aurora Borealis. The trip starts from the Safari Center, then you will head up to the Vuokatti hills enjoying the amazing snow-covered forest and peaceful nature. From the top of the hill, you can admire the amazing view with all the lights shining from the village.

Polar Lights Tour – Night Safari with Huskies

Experience an atmospheric evening with a Husky team driven by a guide. This 10-kilometre safari is a great opportunity to admire the starry sky – and if you are lucky, see the Northern Lights. After the ride, we enjoy sweet and salty pancakes with hot juice by the campfire in a traditional ”kammi”. Duration about 2 hours.

Aurora Borealis at Rokua Tour

During our Aurora Borealis -tour you will enjoy the beautiful Rokua nature and silence with nature covered by white snow, far away from city lights. Depending on the weather conditions, we will admire the colourful Aurora Borealis and thousands of stars in the dark blue sky. Afterwards we will enjoy some warm refreshment by the open fire in a Finnish 'Kota' (hut).

Night of Reindeers and Northern Lights

Escape with us from the city for a night of reindeer culture and Auroras. Visit a traditional Finnish reindeer farm about 60 km from Rovaniemi and learn all about reindeer husbandry and the daily life of caring for them. Enjoy a traditional reindeer meat meal prepared right at the farm. After dinner, it's time to go out to our Northern Lights viewing location, where we’ll make a campfire and our guide will explain this amazing natural phenomenon.

Bonfire Under the Northern Lights

We head away from the village lights. We start a small bonfire and sit around it to grill some snacks. Listening to the bonfire in the darkness is a relaxing experience. Your guide tells stories of the magical nights which are never all that dark with all the stars and of course Northern Lights. We know that love hearing our stories, but don't forget to look up – maybe you will see the stories come to life.

Northern Light Hunting on Snowshoes

Seeing the Northern lights is an experience beyond description, one that you will never forget.The best locations for hunting the Northern Lights are very easily accessible on snowshoes. Total darkness and silence in the middle of a snowy forest create an expectant atmosphere that makes the hunt even more exciting. Our experienced guide leads you safely to places where you have a good chance to see the Northern Lights. You will also learn interesting facts about the Northern Lights as well as Lappish nature and history.

Aurora Borealis Safari by Snowmobile

Experience the Arctic night by driving through a snow-covered forest and on the frozen sea. With a little luck, you’ll travel under a bright sky lit by the moon and the stars. Perhaps the Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights – will appear to show you the way. Sip warm beverages by a campfire and learn more about the Northern Lights and Lapland.

Polar Lights Tour - Night Safari with Huskies

An evening program with a husky team driven by our guides, length about 10 km. A very good opportunity to see an arctic snowy forest with the sky full of stars and with good luck even northern lights. After the husky safari we warm up in our kammi by a campfire with a sausage, hot juice and cookies.

Northern Lights – Eagle-Eye View

What better way to see the Northern Lights than from the very sky where they occur? We will transfer you from your hotel or accommodation to the airport, where a plane awaits to take you on an experience that not many get to try. The airplane is equipped for instrumental flight, has an anti-icing system, and carries seven passengers. The flights are conducted with a flight crew of two pilots. Flight time is around 1 hour, including takeoff and landing preparations. After landing, we transfer you back to your hotel.

Northern Lights Snowmobile Hunt

There are many ways to get out of the city and see the Auroras, but for the adventurous, nothing compares to the snowmobile. Riding across the snow under the stars is a real thrill. Arrive at a remote outdoor fireplace, where the guide will tell you all about the Northern Lights as you grill sausages over the fire and drink hot juice. And with a little luck, the Northern Lights will fill the sky...

Arctic Snow Hotel Evening with Snow Sauna

Our main destination is the Arctic snow hotel in Sinettä, a place built anew every year, complete with ice bar, ice sculptures, and even an ice chapel. This magnificent structure with walls of snow is built a little differently every year, with new ice art. The nearby Kota restaurant offers a salmon dinner before a visit to the famous snow sauna. Hear the ice walls bubble as you throw water on the sauna stones, a truly unique experience! Finally, we return to Rovaniemi with a short hike to the top of the Ounasvaara fell for a view of the city – and with luck, some Northern Lights!

Aurora's Whispers – Northern Lights Fact and Fiction

Did you know that Hankasalmi is one of the most significant places for Aurora Borealis research? Learn facts and fiction about the Norhern lights at the Sirius Observatory in Hankasalmi. Learn wether Auroras make sound, for instance. Afterwards we take our cameras and go chase Auroras on lake Virmas. Weather permitting, we will admire the colourful Auroras and thousands of stars in the dark blue sky. Afterwards we'll enjoy some warm refreshment by the open fire in a Finnish kota (forest hut).
