Evening Cruise with Steamship Ukkopekka

During summer evenings Steamship Ukkopekka sails from Turku to the fascinating small island of Loistokari. There is everything you need for a wonderful evening: delicious dinner inspired by the Finnish archipelago with a variety of fish and barbecue specialties, along with live music and dancing on the pier. The ship is alive with an unforgettable atmosphere and happy people!

Visit the Rauma Maritime Museum!

The Rauma Maritime Museum offers you an in-depth view of the maritime cultural heritage in Rauma, the third-oldest town in Finland, to which the sea and seafaring have always been vitally important. The museum offers experiences for children as well. In most museums, touching is not allowed – the Maritime Museum encourages children to learn by playing and touching artifacts that are marked with red dots. The navigation simulator Jenny is also a visitor favourite. Guided museum tours in English are available – please book ahead!

Manor restaurant Ylhän Kartano is a picturesque place to visit, just few steps from Spa Hotel Päiväkumpu. It is standing in between grand old apple trees that provide fresh apples to Päiväkumpu's kitchen every autumn. The building's history is interesting, and the place breathes old times charm and stories from visits through years. The package includes coffee or tea with a pastry in our idyllic salon, where the café's ladies greet you with a smile.

Swimming in a Sea Pool with Sauna

Allas Sea Pool has three pools: large fresh water pool, large sea water pool and medium-sized kiddie pool. Our three saunas, one for women, one for men and one to be rented for group, offer you a genuine Finnish sauna experience. Swimwear and towels available for rent. Chamber Music at Stundars Hemmer's House

Enjoy a beautiful summer evening with a chamber music concert at Stundars Open Air Museum in Hemmer's House, 15 km from Vaasa city. This house is the childhood home of the Finnish author Jarl Hemmer (1893-1944) and is nowadays a restaurant and a museum with books and furniture donated by the Hemmer family. Before the concert, it is possible to participate in an excursion around the Stundars museum village and after the concert, you can enjoy dinner at Restaurant Hemmer.

Kummakivi Boulder

The Ice Age that prevailed in Northern Europe some 11 000 years ago has significantly affected Finland's geography. The retreating ice sheet ploughed out an assortment of rocks, both big and small. One of the strangest is the Kummakivi boulder in Ruokolahti, Finland. This balancing giant lies on a convex bedrock surface with a very small footprint, but so firmly that it cannot be rocked with human force. Kummakivi ("the strange stone") has been protected since 1962. This boulder is on every tourist's must-see-list in South Karelia!

Gallery Veranda is free to visit and open to all. The exhibitions are a great reason to stop at Finlandia Hall and enjoy our unique milieu and service. The gallery is open during Café Veranda’s opening hours. Exhibitions are managed by their organisers and works are sometimes available for purchase.

A Day at UNESCO World Heritage Site Kvarken

Korsholm Music Festival invites you to a guided full-day tour, including sightseeing, lunch, a concert and an excursion at a World Heritage Site! The day starts with departure from Vaasa City Hall by bus with a guide. The bus takes you over the longest bridge in Finland, The Replot bridge, to a nice local restaurant in the Archipelago. The concert takes place in the middle of the Archipelago and afterwards, it is possible to take a guided boat excursion or a walk to the Saltkaret lookout tower.

In Keimiöniemi, lives the Shaman of Lake Jerisjärvi. Settle down on reindeer skins in the kota and let the open fire tune you into the atmosphere. Do you hear the ravens' gurgling croaks, the "hoot-whoo" of a Boreal Owl – foreseeing the arrival of the Shaman…?
