A walking tour to sample all of the River Aura's finest delicacies. This food walk is sure to leave a good taste in your mouth! Spend a day in Turku experiencing new delightful tastes and enjoying the river front. The Turku Food Walk card will lead you straight to the heart of Turku’s restaurant culture. The route along the banks of the River Aura will take you to genuinely local restaurants that offer the most delicious tastes in Turku. The tour is not guided, but the card includes a map which provides an easy navigation of the route along the River Aura.

Get a sketch artist for your meeting! Meetings can include more to draw than you might think – at least the people participating! Each participant receives a portrait of themselves after the meeting. The artist can also draw a group portrait if that meets your needs best!

Ahola Museum guided tour

Experience a guided tour about the life and art of author Juhani Aho and his painter wife, Venny Soldan-Brofeldt. You can see a diverse display of books by Aho, who was a ‘folk depicter’ and social thinker, including publications that were forbidden at the time or published under a pseudonym. Soldan-Brofeldt was a skilful sketcher. She could instantly capture insightful moments on paper, as her sketchbooks reveal. There are also book illustrations, small sculptures and jewellery on display. We offer guided tours in English and Swedish. Tours in other languages may also be available.

Midnight Sun Experience

Our evening begins with a relaxing cruise on a traditional long riverboat along River Kemijoki, which is surrounded by beautiful summer scenery. A local-style evening meal will be prepared by your guide in the midst of nature. Before midnight, you’ll be driven to the top of Ounasvaara Fell to admire the fascinating midnight sun and the tranquil surroundings. Then we raise a toast to the magical white nights of Lapland with a glass of sparkling wine. Afterwards we will take you back to your hotel.

An Evening with Salvador Dali

The Salvador Dali Private Dinner is an opportunity to enjoy dining at its most elegant. Hosted in the Dali exhibition space in Pargas, your private dining experience will take place in the midst of the artist's sculptures. Your evening starts with a glass of Perelada Brut Rose, the sparkling wine Dali served to his own guests. The food is prepared using Dali's recipes and the wines are mostly taken from the Dali Wine Book. The kitchen is manned by Rotisseur-Chef Kjell Gustafsson.

Wintertime Amethyst Mine Visit

Have you ever wanted to unearth some hidden gemstones? Here is your chance! The Lampivaara Amethyst mine provides you the tools and guidance you need to dig up your very own amethyst! Ride the snowcat (a large treaded snow vehicle) up to the top of Lampivaara, where a beautiful view and the amethyst mine await you. Here you will use the tools of the trade, assisted by professionals, to dig up amethysts, and then you get to bring one of your finds home with you! If you’re lucky, you may even see the Northern Lights during kaamos (Polar Night)!

Culture Pass

One ticket, three attractions! Culture pass is a handy way to experience the most interesting attractions in Rovaniemi! With the pass you can learn about the history of Lapland and Arctic research in Arktikum, get to know northern contemporary art in Korundi House of Culture and familiarize yourself with the many meanings of northern forests in Science Centre Pilke. Culture pass is personal and valid for seven days.

Lemin Särä

Särä is a delicious lamb dish that follows a 1000 year old tradition. Slow baking guarantees a delicious taste experience. In a genuine Lemi way, Särä is enjoyed slowly, and you can have as many servings as you like. Restaurant Säräpirtti is located in Lemi, a half an hour’s drive from Lappeenranta, and managed by the second generation of the Hietaranta Family. It is the only restaurant in Finland specialising in a single dish. We cook Särä throughout the year and serve it with "Eat all you can" principle. A traditional Särä meal consists of Särä, home-made rieska bread and beer.

Circus with the Stars

Cirque du Soleil trapeze artist, Pauliina Räsänen, and world champion acrobat, Slava Volkov, are offering a unique opportunity to spend an enthralling day participating in circus-art workshops. The program includes a circus-art workshop where participants will learn various circus disciplines such as the tightrope, the trapeze, acrobatics, as well as manipulation and juggling skills. No previous circus experience is required and exercises are designed according to capabilities. Groups will also pay a visit to the Kustavi Clay Workshop in the heart of the archipelago.

Viking Food Feast

The hill of Rantamäki in Iloranta is full of stories from the times of the Vikings. Our traditional Iron Age food fest starts with stone baked bread and herb beer for the hungry travelers. Then the viking chief leads you to the ancient barn. You'll find a table covered with the flavours of the Iron Age: caramelized turnips, lovage soup, fish and braised meet. A spelt-berry dessert is served to the table. The mystical feeling of the barn, long tables, candle trees and stories about life in the past are essential parts of the food fest.

Alvar Aalto Church – Guided Tour

The Church of the Three crosses in Imatra is a masterpiece of modern architecture by Alvar Aalto. This church was completed in 1957. It is said to be Aalto's most original church design. It is named after the three white crosses at the altar. The building consists of three consecutive halls which can be separated by sliding walls; this enables parts of the church to be used for parish activities during the week. The exterior of the church is white with a copper roofing. DOCOMOMO has listed the church as a significant example of modern architecture in Finland.

Exhibition: North Star, Southern Cross

The main exhibition at the Maritime Museum of Finland covers themes such as navigation on dangerous seas, the life of seamen, maritime trade, and travelling. Winter navigation and ice are also covered to remind us of the wintry conditions of Finland and the huge change that icebreakers brought to Finnish seafaring. The exhibition presents items recovered from underwater wrecks like the St. Michel which sank in 1747. The magnificent 7.5-metre scale model, in turn, brings the passenger ship S/S Arcturus and its dramatic phases to life. Don’t forget to try out the activity points!

Summer Day at the MuuMaa Farm

A MuuMaa-day is a country adventure for families with children. In our summer program you can participate in different activities, like for example milking a cow or feeding the sheep with hay. At our lovely farm yard you will find lot of fun things to do, like riding a horse and hugging our cow-mascot, Mrs Muu.

Turku by Bike

Head out on this fun-filled tour, where you can ride along the riverside, or head further out if you wish. The tour departs from the Old Great Square, takes you along both sides of the Aura River to Forum Marinum and back again. You'll be accompanied by a Turku-Guide, whose interesting stories explain everything from Turku’s history up to the present day.

Unique Kylmäpihlaja Lighthouse Island

The Kylmäpihlaja lighthouse island is a ruggedly beautiful island of rocks that offers experiences by the open sea. Experience a night in the lighthouse tower on the edge of the open sea: all rooms have sea views. The restaurant serves various delicacies from the archipelago. The Kylmäpihlaja island is easily accessible in the summer, thanks to the daily water bus connection.
