Luxury Yacht - Archipelago Cruise to Åland Island

Wit the luxury yacht we will visit five different islands, including Ahvenanmaa island which is located in the autonomous region between Finland and Sweden. Each of the islands has unique wildlife, fascinating history and lots of stories to tell. Manor restaurant Ylhän Kartano is a picturesque place to visit, just few steps from Spa Hotel Päiväkumpu. It is standing in between grand old apple trees that provide fresh apples to Päiväkumpu's kitchen every autumn. The building's history is interesting, and the place breathes old times charm and stories from visits through years. Kuhmo is worth a cultural visit even in the middle of the darkest and coldest time of the year. Kuhmo Culture Celebrates Winter is a joint arena for Kuhmo organizers and artists, some internationally-acclaimed, and a showcase for some of the best Kuhmo culture: diverse music, theatre, exhibitions, and literature. Kuhmo Culture Celebrates Winter is organised annually in January.

Old Wooden Towns Tour

Walking around Old Towns is like stepping into a fairy tale: the colourful wooden houses, decorative gates, cobblestone streets and beautiful public buildings create an atmosphere of the long-forgotten past. Old Finnish coastal towns host many lovely restaurants, cafés, shops and museums. Anti-Aircraft Defence Museum

The Anti-Aircraft Defence Museum showcases a globally unique and diverse collection of anti-aircraft systems from 1925 to the present day, including a MiG-3 fighter that was shot down in 1941. In addition to its extensive outdoor exhibition space, the museum has two large exhibition halls. The museum is located in Tuusula, a 30 minute drive from Helsinki. Other facilities include a museum shop and café.

Manor Tour in Wiurila

The museums offer a fascinating trip into the life of Wiurila. During the tour, you visit the Household Center designed by C. L. Engel, which includes the Wiurila Family Museum where unique articles from the main building are on display. You also get to see the Carriage Museum, the smithy and the carpenter's workshop. The museum is open Wed–Sun, 12–16 in June to August. No reservation is required. Guided tour available on Wednesdays at 9:30–10.30. Reservations by phone.

Arctic Art Week

Every year in August, Kakslauttanen plays host to an event that attracts artists from all around the world. For a whole week, sculptors, painters and other artists seek inspiration from the Northern nature and allow their creativity to flourish. The works of art created during the week stay at Kakslauttanen for other visitors to discover.

Food & Fun Festival 2016

Our international guest chefs from different countries are challenged to create their own four-course menus during the festival at local restaurants. Bartenders and pastry chefs offer their own delicious recipies for food lovers in bars and cafes. The chefs are definitely allowed to bring some of own flavours, but locality, the Archipelago's ingredients, and freshness are the essence during the festival week. Also look out for bartenders creating their own cocktail menus, introducing great ideas and experiences to the Finnish cocktail scene!

Helsinki Highlights in 6 Hours

Spend a day enjoying interesting sights in Helsinki, also known as the Daughter of the Baltic Sea. Kainuu Orienteering Week (Competition Categories)

The Kainuu Orienteering Week's competition categories include four competition days. 1st stage (Sunday), rest day (Monday), 2nd stage (Tuesday), rest day (Wednesday), 3rd stage (Thursday) and 4th stage (Friday). The competition categories are diveded into the following groups: Men/Boys (H/D) 8–95 years, Women/Girls (H/D) 8–95 years. Groups H/D 16–21 also include Elite categories for professionals. Prizes for stage winners and overall winners. Category H/D21E has money prizes.
