Role guided tours

Experienced guided introductions are made by guides projecting themself into a role of Mansion's inhabitants from the 19th century. The tour leads to the history of the mansion circulating in halls, in the garden, in orangerie or e.g. in a robust tree alley. Guided tours are planned according to your wishes. The tour theme can be general guidance of the history and presence of the Mansion, Björkenheim family as the owners and builders of Vuojoki or the restoration of Vuojoki Mansion. Languages: Finnish, English, Swedish, Germany, French, Esthonian and local dialect. Duration 1 h.

Tom of Finland: The Pleasure of Play Exhibition

A masterful stroke and iconic male figures have made Tom of Finland into one of Finland’s most widely-known artists. His bold and humorous imagery has sparked conversations on sexual diversity, equality as well as on the relationship between pornography and art.

The Pleasure of Play is the most comprehensive Tom of Finland exhibition to date, spanning six decades to include more than 180 drawings, 1930s childhood paper dolls, the full set of 1940s gouaches along with triptychs, individual drawings, storyboards and over 300 reference pages.

Food Walk in Turku

Korsholm Music Festival

Since 1983, Korsholm Music Festival has invited leading Nordic and international chamber music artists to perform in unique surroundings at historic concert halls, museums, rustic archipelago rooms and wooden churches. This unique event provides an opportunity to hear new and early chamber music at atmospheric concert venues set amidst the splendid scenery of the Ostrobothnian coast. Nature Friendly Family Rafting

Before we head into the first rapid we’ll practice our rafting skills and safety instructions on a lake. At first we get to explore class 1 rapids – this will be a good warm up! In class 2 rapids we will test our team work skills and have fun. The final rapid class III Harjakoski will give you a good challenge and a nice refreshing splash of water! While paddling the river downstream we can experience the nature around us and enjoy the sound of birds and streaming water. Bigger lake areas we drive trough by nature-friendly electric outboard engine or four stroke outboard engine.

Shop Like a Local

If you are curious about where the local people shop for their daily life, join our guide on a shopping tour by car. We will browse around in the supermarket to spot the typical Finnish grocery products, take a peek into a huge flee market to search for possible treasures and go see what locals need to buy for their hobbies – hunting, fishing, snowmobiling. Maybe you’ll even find some souvenirs!
 The selection of shops visited can vary according to the interests of the participants.

Ahola Museum guided tour

Experience a guided tour about the life and art of author Juhani Aho and his painter wife, Venny Soldan-Brofeldt. You can see a diverse display of books by Aho, who was a ‘folk depicter’ and social thinker, including publications that were forbidden at the time or published under a pseudonym. Soldan-Brofeldt was a skilful sketcher. She could instantly capture insightful moments on paper, as her sketchbooks reveal. There are also book illustrations, small sculptures and jewellery on display. We offer guided tours in English and Swedish. Tours in other languages may also be available.

The Age of Agriculture – The Story of Farming in Finland

Have you ever seen the first Finnish tractor or sat in a cabin of a modern combine harvester? Have you been inside a real windmill or wondered how cream is separated from milk? The Age of Agriculture exhibition allows just that and much more. The exhibition is a journey through three thousand years of farming in Finland. The age of agriculture is one of labour, cultivated species, domesticated animals, arable fields, burn-cleared swidden plots and pastures; it is a landscape.

Turku Music Festival

Explore the Turku Music Festival, one of the oldest music festivals in Finland! The versatile city festival provides top class music for a wide range of tastes, including major orchestral concerts, chamber music, recitals, jazz and concerts for children. Since its foundation in 1960, the annual festival has provided high quality events every August. Each year the festival gathers leading Finnish and international artists such as Jonas Kaufmann, Mariinsky Theater Orchestra with Valery Gergiev, Rolando Villazón, Donna Leon, Seoul Philharmonic and Elīna Garanča.

A Typical Day in Finland (6–7 hours)

Discover the old city of Porvoo, Finnish history and culture, and our silent Nature. After lunch in a very nice restaurant, you will walk along the river and in the empire part of the city. In the afternoon we visit nice spots with beautiful views. Then we depart to an island located 25 km south of Porvoo. We will prepare the sauna, relax, and live in the moment. Enjoy the solitude of your own beach. Later we will have a BBQ at the same location and spend the rest of the day in our little paradise before returning to Porvoo, where the day ends.

Discovering Finland in Porvoo (6–7 hours)

Explore the old city of Porvoo, learn about its history, and walk along the old streets and forest paths. Then we will visit a local shop and buy all produce we need to cook Finnish specialties together. Upon our arrival to the kitchen, a professional chef will explain how we will proceed during the next hours. The chef will tell us where the recipes come from and what they contain. Everyone will participate and several dishes will be made simultaneously. When everything is ready, we will taste the dishes together in an atmosphere of pure Finnish bliss.
