Gold Panning

Unique gold panning activity for all ages, from one hour to all day. Our professional guide will show you how it's done, we lend you the necessary equipment and you can keep all the gold and gemstones you find. You will find gold, as long as you do it carefully! Gold panning in Tankavaara Gold Village is available every day outdoors from June to September and indoors in the winter. We also rent longer permits for gold claims in the area!

A Visit to the Tropics in Joensuu

Botania is the only tropical butterfly garden in Finland, and it offers a unique opportunity to observe the plants of the world. Warmth and lush greenness are near, even during the Northern winter. Tropical butterflies are flying around the tropical section throughout the year. You can visit individually or in a group, with or without a booked guided tour. Additional services: guided tours (book in advance), coffee service, and venue for private functions. Botania is open every day throughout the year (see our website for exceptions).

Restaurant Sarrit

The cozy Café/Restaurant Sarrit offers visitors a rest during their visit to the exhibitions. The restaurant's delicacies provide a taste of the clean ingredients of the North. The salty and sweet pastries are always fresh: they are baked daily at the restaurant.

Veuve Clicquot VIP Experience

In this VIP experience you will get to enjoy beautiful Helsinki in a VIP cabin, which is a unique piece of art. Inside the cabin there are 4 leather seats, relaxing music, air conditioning and a glass floor. The ride lasts approximately for 30 minutes and includes a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne.

Finland Ice Marathon

Finland Ice Marathon is one of Finland's oldest ice skating events on natural ice. The race centre is located in the harbour of Kuopio, catering to participants with activities and comprehensive facilities.

Cruise on Lemmenjoki

Many Lappish people consider Lemmenjoki National Park to be the most beautiful area in the province. Take a riverboat cruise, get acquainted with the Sami village of Lemmenjoki, and make a stop at the Ravadas waterfall. While having lunch on the shore by the fire, the guide will tell tales of gold mining, local reindeer herding and Sámi culture.
