Nature Friendly Family Rafting

Before we head into the first rapid we’ll practice our rafting skills and safety instructions on a lake. At first we get to explore class 1 rapids – this will be a good warm up! In class 2 rapids we will test our team work skills and have fun. The final rapid class III Harjakoski will give you a good challenge and a nice refreshing splash of water! While paddling the river downstream we can experience the nature around us and enjoy the sound of birds and streaming water. Bigger lake areas we drive trough by nature-friendly electric outboard engine or four stroke outboard engine.

Arctic Art Week

Every year in August, Kakslauttanen plays host to an event that attracts artists from all around the world. For a whole week, sculptors, painters and other artists seek inspiration from the Northern nature and allow their creativity to flourish. The works of art created during the week stay at Kakslauttanen for other visitors to discover.

The Secret Life of Trees

Let the shaman drum lead you on a fascinating 8 km hike to the rock paintings of Värikallio, one of the most interesting sights in Hossa National Park. On the way, you will hear interesting stories about trees and old Finnish beliefs concerning nature. You will learn interesting things about the Language of Trees and forests in Finland – maybe you will even find your own Power Tree. Once halfway to the rock paintings, we will enjoy a break with Chaga mushroom tea and Finnish delicacies.

Glimpse of the Arctic - Huskies in Nuuksio National Park

Meet the huskies of Nuuksio National Park in peaceful nature surroundings. Take turns in dog sled riding on a short but a safe track pulled by our people-loving Siberian huskies. While you ride, your friends can enjoy watching your experience. Depending on track and weather, you can also drive yourself. Enter 'Kota', the traditional Sami tent and hear the stories of the Arctic reliving the experience by an open fire. A hot drink is included. We'll use dog sleds or dog carts.

Korsholm Music Festival

Since 1983, Korsholm Music Festival has invited leading Nordic and international chamber music artists to perform in unique surroundings at historic concert halls, museums, rustic archipelago rooms and wooden churches. This unique event provides an opportunity to hear new and early chamber music at atmospheric concert venues set amidst the splendid scenery of the Ostrobothnian coast. Korsholm Music Festival offers 30 concerts during 9 days, but also excursions, hotel packages and transfers between concerts for the audience. Easy connections from Helsinki and Stockholm.

Kuhmo Chamber Music

The Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival runs in July. During the festival, Kuhmo will become a truly Global Village, with over 70 concerts performed by 150 international artists.

Sightseeing Cruise on M/S Elviira

See the beautiful archipelago of Savonlinna on M/S Elviira. Duration: one hour. During the tour, you will pass the Olavinlinna castle. This tour offers you beautiful views of archipelago summer cottages and saunas. You might even spot a Saimaa ringed seal! Available languages: Finnish, German and Russian.

Love Letter Bracelet Workshop

Make your own Love Letter Bracelet with the help of a goldsmith. You can choose a letter, a symbol or a short word and stamp it on a silver disc. Then a silk string is attached to the disc and the bracelet is tied to your wrist. You can also choose a silver chain for an extra fee. The workshop takes approximately one hour for a group of 5.

A Day at Sovero Art House in Eura

Sovero Art House offers visitors a chance to spend a day in an old wooden Villa from 1905. As our Guest, you may experience the atmosphere of the House and the owner's art collection. You also have a chance to paint on wood under Kaisa Sovero's guidance. The owner's permanent art exhibition is also on display at the House. The building is surrounded by an old garden and trees, so it is the perfect milieu to experience Finnish nature. The package includes a meal with coffee or tea.

Ice Fishing on the Porvoo River or Baltic Sea with Visit and Lunch in Porvoo (3-4 hours )

We will meet at the agreed location in Porvoo. We will tell you how to proceed and soon you will drill your first hole in the ice and start fishing. Hopefully, you will catch a fish and get some nice photos. After this great fishing experience, we will walk in the Old Town of Porvoo and you will learn more about Porvoo’s history and Finnish culture. Our walk will lead us to a fish restaurant (except Sundays) where you can test all the delicacies our local fisherman have brought in.

The Helsinki Book Fair is the year’s most important forum for lovers of literature and book industry professionals. The Fair has also become a notable cultural event, a place where the major issues and phenomena of our time are discussed within the context of literature.

Summer Day at the MuuMaa Farm

A MuuMaa-day is a country adventure for families with children. In our summer program you can participate in different activities, like for example milking a cow or feeding the sheep with hay. At our lovely farm yard you will find lot of fun things to do, like riding a horse and hugging our cow-mascot, Mrs Muu.

ArtHelsinki Exhibition

An international fair for contemporary art.ArtHelsinki stated its new vision for an internationally pertinent contemporary art fair during its 2015 edition with Helsinki Highlights, which presented an installation composed of a variety of art initiatives acting locally and operating internationally.

Trip to the Lappish Goldfields

Transport by car to an original Lappish goldfield located near Saariselkä. We will meet original gold diggers and learn about today's gold digging and panning methods. After learning the ways to find gold, we get the chance to try the hard work by ourselves. Shovels and pails are waiting for us at the ditch and off we go! After a while of hard work, the real gold digger helps us to find the gold and jewelry stones by panning. During the trip we'll have coffee and pancakes.

Tundra Chef's Table

Chef Jarmo Pitkänen offers an opportunity for small parties to enjoy the exquisite dinners of Studio Restaurant Tundra. Tundra, usually a private restaurant operating by orders only, now presents Tundra Chef’s Table that is open for guests on selected days, only a few times a month. Single diners, couples, or small parties are welcome to savour the pure northern aromas of Kuusamo, flavoured with an international twist.

The Incredible Women of Turku

This walking tour presents the women of Turku and the women’s Turku throughout the ages. Attention will be given to the female saints and women of noble birth, who are protected within the walls of Turku Cathedral, as well as the three Katarinas at Turku Castle. You will also learn about the first female governors of Finland, the girls from Portsa, the Pumpula weavers, the hardworking housewives of Luostarinmäki, without forgetting Cat-Alli and the streetwalkers of Harmaalinna.
