På Kroken is a seafood restaurant situated in the harbour of Hangonkylä. The cosy family restaurant offers everything from a tasty archipelago buffet with a unique selection of the local and traditional archipelago delicacies to fresh lobster and the famed pepper steak of Kroken. Delightful Raekallio

We head towards the north, driving along frozen swamps to the small village of Pöntsö. In Pöntsö, we visit the home and gallery of Lappish artist Reijo Raekallio. Reijo is known for his talent of capturing the beauty of Lappish nature and its people and animals into his paintings. A coffee break surrounded by beautiful art will feed your mind and soul.

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site Suomenlinna

The best way to get to know the fortress is to visit the Suomenlinna Museum which tells the story of Suomenlinna. After that your guide will take you through the fortress to see its walls, cannons, tunnels and dry dock. After a fresh walk around the fortress you can finish your visit with a warm cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll.

On a guided walk to Design District Helsinki you can learn how design became a lifestyle for Finns. We visit classic brands like Artek known of Alvar Aalto and Marimekko and dive deeply to the design quarter to meet the fresh faces of Finnish design.

A Guided Walking Tour in Naantali Old Town

In Naantali Old Town, every building has a name of its own. The tour strolls through the narrow streets of the charming Old Town, exploring also the history of convent life in Naantali. The tours start from just outside Naantali Tourist Information and last one hour. The price of the ticket includes a small souvenir and entrance to the Naantali Museum, where you will also find a miniature model of the convent.

Heureka – The Finnish Science Centre

At Heureka, visitors learn about science and technology in an exciting and fun hands-on environment. In addition to the main exhibition, the centre presents temporary exhibitions on various topics. Heureka Classics Main Exhibition Area: Science on a Sphere, About a Coin, Intelligent City, Under Cover, The Wind in the Bowels + Planetarium films, Rat Basketball, Science Shows and much more!

Gold Panning

Gold mining has been practiced in the area surrounding Kakslauttanen for centuries. The first gold rush took place in the 1870's – i.e. before Alaska. There is so much of this precious metal in the ground that many have been overcome with gold-rush fever and ended up staying in Lapland for the rest of their lives. Our guests get to try their luck at the gold-panning site.

Ski Museum – Snow Fun All Year Round

The Lahti Ski Museum is situated at the Lahti Sports Centre, only a short walk from Lahti city centre. The interactive section of the museum offers snow sports fun for all ages – all year round! Experience the thrill of ski jumping safely in a simulator, or challenge yourself or your team in cross-country skiing or biathlon. Be it summer or winter, gather a group of friends and arrange a memorable event at the interactive section of the Ski Museum. Include a visit to the Lahti Ski Jump Tower and make it a day to remember! The museum is under renovation and opens in January 2017!

Juminkeko Exhibition

Juminkeko – Kalevala's Nest The Juminkeko building is a prime example of modern Finnish wood architecture. It is designed by the internationally acclaimed Finnish architects Mikko Heikkinen and Markku Komonen. The permanent exhibition at Juminkeko displays sculptures that portray Kalevala's translators and Viena Karelian rune singers. Juminkeko also hosts changing exhibitions on Kalevala and Karelian culture.

Swimming in a Sea Pool with Sauna

Allas Sea Pool has three pools: large fresh water pool, large sea water pool and medium-sized kiddie pool. Our three saunas, one for women, one for men and one to be rented for group, offer you a genuine Finnish sauna experience. Swimwear and towels available for rent. Entry fee includes both swimming and sauna.

The Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival runs in July. During the festival, Kuhmo will become a truly Global Village, with over 70 concerts performed by 150 international artists.

Study the Forest is a three-hour excursion through family-owned forests. You will learn how traditional forest management, tourism and volunteerism can go hand-in-hand. We will tailor the excursion according to your interests and wishes. Coffee and snacks by a campfire are included.

Viking Village Tour

The entrance fee to the Viking Centre includes a guide map for the village and all exhibitions. For a richer experience you can book a guide for the tour, and we will also teach you how to throw a Viking axe!

Visit the Rauma Maritime Museum!

The Rauma Maritime Museum offers you an in-depth view of the maritime cultural heritage in Rauma, the third-oldest town in Finland, to which the sea and seafaring have always been vitally important. The museum offers experiences for children as well. In most museums, touching is not allowed – the Maritime Museum encourages children to learn by playing and touching artifacts that are marked with red dots. The navigation simulator Jenny is also a visitor favourite. Guided museum tours in English are available – please book ahead!
