Aateli Island

Vuokatin Aateli offers you something unique in all of Finland, the Aateli Island, a paradise island in the middle of a beautiful lake with breathtaking views of the scenery in Vuokatti. Vuokatin Aateli’s own vessel takes you safely to the island or onto the waves of Lake Nuasjärvi to relax. You can also arrive by your own aircraft or helicopter (heliport on the island) or steer your sailboat into our excellent dock. The island is home to the splendid Villa Fregatti, equipped with 3 bedrooms, sauna, whirlpool, fireplace, home entertainment centre and a heated, glazed-in terrace.

Finnish Sauna Experience

A transfer takes you to the Arctic Circle wilderness lodge – a traditional lumberjack manor nestled by the beautiful river of Raudanjoki. The riverside sauna is already warm and waiting for you. When warming up in the sauna, you can take a break to cool down while sitting outside, or jumping into the snow. After that you can repeat the sauna ritual again. Hand-made organic body scrub is available for the ladies to enjoy a little sauna spa treatment. Table water will be served, and there are other drinks on sale for extra charge.

Relaxing Holiday at Metsäkartano

Relax at the Metsäkartano Resort in the Finnish Lakeland. This three day package includes skiing, snowshoeing, and kick sledding, partly guided and partly independent. Sensing and feeling the nature, good food and accommodation in one of our holiday apartments will guarantee a relaxing holiday.

Wild Herbs: Walk and Program

Follow a walk in the beautiful surroundings of forests and meadows and forage Finnish edible and medicinal wild herbs. Then use the collected herbs in practice with a program of your choice: herbal sauna, cooking, making simple natural cosmetics or arts & crafts.

Sauna & Lake Experience – サウナ&湖体験

Sauna is an integral part of Finnish culture. Our Japanese-speaking guide takes you on a tour to a proper Finnish sauna, located by the lake and surrounded by forest. After taking your time to enjoy the sauna – and maybe a swim in the lake – you can sit down for a late lunch with our guide.

Mushroom Hunting Tour

The tour's theme, mushrooms picking, is one of the popular pastimes of Finns. During this tour there is plenty of time to get to know the Finnish forest and it’s treasures: hug trees for inner strength, eat blueberries directly from the twigs and pick mushrooms. Here the visitors can experience the Nordic everyman's rights in practice. During the break around a campfire, we smell the fire and hear it’s sounds, enjoy the fresh aroma of the coffee and mushrooms which will get our taste buds going.

Traditional Finnish Folk Healing

Massage and bone setting, wet cupping and peat treatments: come experience traditional Finnish folk healing, which has proven its efficiency time and again. It has helped people for thousands of years and continues to do so also in our time. Folk healing, based on traditional folk wisdom, is natural healthcare at its best. The methods are adjusted to fit the requirements of modern times but the roots of the treatments lie in traditional knowledge and skills. You may learn more about the treatments on my website.

Cosy Finnish Sauna Evening

Visit a Finnish home and experience an authentic sauna, if you dare. Your host explains the traditions and procedures involved. Snacks and beverages will be served. Bigger groups are divided to several homes. Optimal number of guests is 1–4 persons.

The Only Public Sauna in Turku

True sauna culture has existed in Turku since 1927. A public sauna for both women and men is open on Fridays from 3 pm to 6 pm. The Forum Sauna has two saunas as well as washing and changing rooms with facilities for about 20 people on each side. The changing rooms have lockers. Reservations are not necessary, and there is no restriction on duration. Other services include towel rental, refreshments, sauna and washing products as well as therapy products, all for sale. Services on request: traditional washer, cupping, mud treatments, hirudin therapy, and infrared sauna.

Relaxing Day of Silence and Art

The venue for this day is the most beautiful and relaxing surroundings around Lake Kemijärvi. Our day is a combination of a tranquil journey through contemplative and inspiring moments of meditation, silence and solitude as well as guided interactive moments of encountering art and the act of painting. Personal guidance is given by trained retreat counsellor and artist Pirkko Mäkelä-Haapalinna. The participants are encouraged to reflect their emotions and feelings through art and discussions. During the day, our participants are served an intimate lunch together with the artist.

Finnish Lakeside Sauna Experience in Nuuksio National Park

This all-inclusive sauna program takes you to a Finnish lakeside sauna in Nuuksio National Park, close to Helsinki. We warm up the sauna together and learn what sauna means to Finns. The sauna is reserved for our group only. Before bathing in the sauna we have time for activities in the nature. How about a forest walk or rowing with a boat on the clean waters of the natural lake. In winter it’s time for snow shoeing in snowy forests or on the ice of the lake. Or we can just sit by the lake and enjoy the beauty of the nature and the silence. A good Finnish meal concludes the day.

City Sauna Tour

Sauna is in many ways the base of life and society in Finland. We have 3 million saunas for 5 million people. On this tour you will learn about different kinds of saunas and visit a public city sauna for a real bathing experience! The tour can be conducted by public transport, by bicycle or with Nordic walking sticks. Let us know which method of transport you would prefer or inquire what we have available for the time when you would like to participate on the tour. The best part of the tour is of course a real bathing visit to one of the city saunas in bohemian Kallio neighborhood!

Come and experience a relaxing walking meditation in the unique milieu of Voipaala Manor garden and the ancient fortress of Rapola ridge. Walking meditation is a functional way of relaxing. It is not sitting alone but walking together – in silence – allowing you to have a break to everyday routines and spend time undisturbed in the peace of your own mind. The meditation combines light exercise, fresh air and the beauty of nature. Afterwards, the process is summarized in a conversation, giving the participants the opportunity for sharing experiences and insights with their fellow walkers.

Mind Bath / Sauna Yoga

Sauna Yoga is practiced seated on a sauna bench in a mild temperature of 50°C. A sequence of simple, yogabased poses and the quietness of the sauna pamper the body and the mind and make way for a thoroughly relaxing experience. The combination of the mild heat and gentle yoga poses relieve tension in the body and calm the mind. A Sauna Yoga sequence is a 30-minute exercise that consists of six poses. The poses strengthen the middle and lower body muscles and increase the flexibility of the spine. The exercise also increases metabolism, reduces stress and facilitates the onset of sleep.
