Ice Fishing Tour

"The smaller the group, the bigger the experience, as listening to the woods is better in silence." Are you ready to catch lunch the traditional way? You will be taught how to drill a hole in the ice and tactics that increase your chances of a catch. Once your guide has taught you the basics, you will get to relax in the silent wilderness. A fire will be prepared for you on the bank of the river or lake so you can warm up, enjoy a drink and grill sausages.

Make a relaxing day tour to the countryside 80 km from Helsinki and spend a Finnish summer day with us. Get into a Finnish forest for a walk, feel the silence and pick up berries with your local hostess. Kayak and SUP Rental

Explore the clear waters of Lake Saimaa with SUP boards or kayaks. Punkaharju is surrounded by Lake Pihlajavesi and Lake Puruvesi, which are both part of Lake Saimaa. These lakes are so clean you can even drink from them in some locations. Rent a kayak or SUP board and visit the beautiful Punkaharju Ridge area – maps and route suggestions available from the rental location.

Helsinki StopOver – Explore Finnish Nature, Lakes and Forests

This tour is an excellent way to get to know Finnish nature and outdoor life especially if your time in Helsinki is limited. The tour takes you to a nature walk in the forest by a beautiful lake, only 20 minutes drive from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. During the tour the guide will tell you about Finnish nature nature and history. In the summertime you also have a possibility to swim in a lake and in the winter you can try snowshoeing or walking on an ice-lake. The tour includes a Finnish snack served with coffee/tea as well as transportation from the airport.

Call of the Wild Husky Adventure

Get away from the city and enjoy the magical forests of the lappish wilderness, while driving your own dog-team. The sound of the panting huskies and the snow underneath your sled is the perfect soundtrack for this adventure. During the tour we drive about 16-22 km. The husky excursion lasts about 3 hours.

Fishing Experience

Hjortö is located next to a lake connected with the sea. Even if it is windy you can go fishing here. In water are lots of perches but you will also get pikes, pike-perces and whitefish. Our boats are 4.30 m and the engines 15 hp. In wintertime Hjortö is very popular for winterfishing.

Helsinki City Marathon

Helsinki City Marathon is the biggest marathon in Finland with over 3500 runners from 63 countries (2016). The marathon is organized in August every year, for the 37th time in 2017. Finland is one of the few countries where you can run a marathon during the summer months. Our climate is perfect for it – the average temperature is around 18–20 degrees Celcius. The marathon route is scenic yet urban, reaching the very heart of the city. HCM receives excellent feedback from runners every year. Come and enjoy the clean air and blue skies of Finland!

Snowy Trails Husky Safari (8 km)

Take a ride behind a team of sleigh dogs on a trek through Finnish country trails and learn all about the training, breeding and racing of the magnificent husky! Go on a trip to a local husky farm, where you get a short introduction and instruction, and the dogs are ready to take you on an 8 km ride through the Finnish countryside. Afterwards, the staff will tell you all about the life and training of the dogs, as you enjoy some hot juice and Finnish ginger cookies before we return you to your hotel.

Wild Food Hiking Trip in Pure Nature

Rovaniemi is the ideal place for berry and mushroom picking. Berry picking is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and unwind in the midst of natural beauty. Our guide will tell you the basics about our totally fresh food ingredients, which you can collect and taste straight from the clean forest. After spending time in the forest, we will proceed with the most delicious part of the safari: baking traditional pancakes on the open fire. And fresh pancakes are of course most delicious when you eat them with freshly picked berries!

SUP Outdoor Trips

Our SUP Outdoor trips will take you to the middle of quiet lake nature. Our course you will teach you the basics of stand-up paddling: the right paddling technique and safe practices, how to handle the paddle and board and how to get on the board. You’ll need appropriate sports clothes and an open and relaxed mind! We will provide neoprene shoes on our autumn trips.

Bear Watching Evening

Bear Kuusamo Ltd offers a chance to see wild brown bears in their natural environment. There is a 200m walk along a path from the parking place to our comfortable watching buildings. During the best bear season (June-August) we guarantee 99% possibility to see bears during the evening.

Visit to a Genuine Local Reindeer Farm

Visit a local reindeer farm where you will meet the young owners who are introducing you the local life of reindeer herders. Reindeer are semi-domesticated, and every animal is owned by a herder. In Northern Lapland, reindeer husbandry is still a major source of income for many. You can see and feed the animals while listening to their incredible stories. These activities offer great possibilities for taking photos and experiencing authentic wilderness life. Warm drinks are offered by the open fire.

Cruises to Southern Konnevesi National Park

Experience the clear waters and spectacular landscapes of a Finnish national park. Our cruise takes place in the area of beautiful Lake Konnevesi. Our professional guide takes care of your needs and is happy to answer all your questions. You are warmly welcome alone as well as with your partner or family. The 2-hour cruise departs from Häyrylänranta Harbour. Ensure your seat on the cruise by booking in advance!

Fatbike Hike on the Snow

In the spring, the sun makes snow so hard that you can ride a bike on it. For a wide tired fatbike, conditions like these are a dream come true. Our fatbike hike takes us across the snow covered wilderness either on crusted snow or following a frozen snowmobile trail, depending on snow conditions. In any case, we can enjoy the endless peace and silence of the wilderness. We will spend a night in a wilderness cabin where you can enjoy a hot sauna. If the sun warms the snow too much and makes it too soft to ride during the daytime, we will ride in the evenings and early mornings.

Steamship Cruise to Lake Oulujärvi

Enjoy the beautiful northern scenery of broad Lake Oulujärvi on an authentic steamship cruise. Built in 1920, the steamer Kouta and its original steam engine serve passengers on cruises to Oulujärvi, its magical Ärjä island and historical Paltaniemi village. The cruises start from the heart of Kajaani, just a walking distance from the city hotels and only 30 km from the Vuokatti resort.

Happy Landings – Snowmobile Safari from the Airport

As you are landing in Ruka-Kuusamo you see the alluring snowy, vast landscape under you, and we bet you cannot wait to plunge into some proper winter fun! Your guide greets you in the arrivals hall and provides you with winter-proof driving gear. The snowmobiles wait for you just outside the terminal and you are good to start the safari to your place of accommodation (in the Ruka-Kuusamo area). We will transport your luggage by car!
