Reindeer Safari in the deep forest

A reindeer sleigh ride is a very old way of travelling in Lapland. During this trip we will travel about 3,5km through snowy forests with a sleigh pulled by the reindeer. 
The ride will take place at the local reindeer farm nearby Rovaniemi, where you will meet the real reindeer herders, who will tell you about their way of life, living hand-in-hand with nature. There are many great possibilities to take photos during the safari and farm tour, and you can also feed the reindeers with their favourite snacks. Warm drinks with buns are served.

Ice Climbing, Mont Karhu Climbing Tower

Experience ice climbing up in the Mont Karhu climbing tower. Learn how to use a climbing harness, carabiners, crampons and ice axes. We start ice climbing from the eastern side of Month Karhu climbing tower. Ice climbing is a real team work effort so you will be working in a group of three people. One of you is climbing and two of you belaying. Previous climbing experience is not needed for this program.

Stay Overnight, Into The Wild

Malmbacka is a recently established village of cottages in historical Snappertuna in Southern Finland. It is surrounded by wild animals in a beautiful rural setting. Here you can enjoy our beautiful nature all year round, do some hiking and bicycle trips, spend relaxing vacation days, and experience peace and quiet at its best. You can prepare your food over an open fire and sleep in a cottage or in a charcoal worker’s hut on a sheepskin.

Family Snowmobile Safari

This snowmobile safari is specialised for families with little children. We will go for a ride on the forest trails around the Santa Claus Village area, where parents can ride their own snowmobile while children travel in a sleigh pulled by the guide's snowmobile. You can enjoy the beautiful wintery scenery, and we will make several stops to admire the snowy nature. We also stop at a special area, where children can ride safely on their own on mini-snowmobiles, which are suitable for children over 12 years, smaller kids can ride with their parent or guide.

Wild Route Rafting

The Wild route is suitable for daredevils and experienced white water rafters, although previous experience isn’t required. Before we head into the first rapid we’ll practice our rafting skills and safety instructions. The route includes the three biggest rapids on Kitka river, from class II to class IV. On this route adrenaline is pumping and you won’t stay dry! The Wild route is done the way we like to do it: no outboard engines, everybody paddles and small playful rafts to get the best out of it! After the rafting, we will walk along the Little Bear trail back to the basecamp.

Horseback Riding in the Forest

This horseback riding trip takes you through a snowy forest to the beautiful frozen Lake Pyhäjärvi. Enjoy the winter magic, find peace of mind, and feel the power of your horse when walking in the deep snow. We will start by preparing the horses together in the stable and then move to our riding area, where you will get instructions on safety. After the trip, we take care of the horses and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Age limit 12 years. You can borrow a riding helmet from us, but please wear good shoes and clothes suitable for the day's weather.

Aurora Floating

This unique evening experience gives you the chance to search for the Northern Lights while floating in a dry suit in one of the most picturesque lakes in Levi! Our dry floating suits cover you from head to toe, keeping you completely dry and warm as you take turns to float in the still, peaceful water under the moonlight. If luck is on our side, we will see the best of the Arctic sky covered in stars and the Northern Lights during this magical experience. Local snack included.

Rent a Car at the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

Rent a car for 1-3 days and explore Southern Finland. You can rent a car as soon as you land in Helsinki Airport or from our downtown branch. Sixt has a wide selection of rental vehicles. For renting a car you need to be at least 21-years old, have a valid driver's license and credit card.

The Ultimate Explorer

Nothing beats this unique journey with Sámi reindeer herders when the reindeer migrate to their summer pastures. The trip starts from and finishes in Finland, but you will explore the Arctic beauty of Norway, live with the Sámi in their traditional tents and be a part of the host Sámi family. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Due to herding traditions, it is only available in April. Small groups only.

Reindeer Safari and Northern Lights Hunting

This is a night to remember! Travel by car for 20 minutes to the start of the adventure at a local reindeer farm. Once you arrive, meet the animals and learn a little about them before taking a seat in a traditional sleigh, pulled by reindeer. Travel through snowy forests sitting comfortably, and who knows, perhaps the Northern Lights paint the skies in shades of green above you. A hot cup of coffee with a bun is served around a campfire. You also get up close to the reindeers and learn about reindeer husbandry from the friendly herders.

Polar Lights Tour - Night Safari with Huskies

An evening program with a husky team driven by our guides, length about 10 km. A very good opportunity to see an arctic snowy forest with the sky full of stars and with good luck even northern lights. After the husky safari we warm up in our kammi by a campfire with a sausage, hot juice and cookies.

Magic of the Northern Lights

Once dusk falls over Northern nature, the magical Northern Lights will appear on the sky. This snowshoe adventure is the perfect way to explore winter landscapes authentically, and with a bit of luck, you might see the amazing show of Aurora Borealis. The trip starts from the Safari Center, then you will head up to the Vuokatti hills enjoying the amazing snow-covered forest and peaceful nature. From the top of the hill, you can admire the amazing view with all the lights shining from the village.

Utsjoki Nature Information Hut

Utsjoki Nature Information Hut is situated in the centre of municipality of Utsjoki. It provides information on the River Tenojoki, which is known for it's salmon. The river, which runs along the Finnish-Norwegian border invites fishermen and tourists to enjoy the amazing nature of Northern Lapland. The Nature Information Hut offers tips on hiking in Utsjoki region: in Kevo Strict Nature Reserve and in wilderness areas nearby. The nature in the Utsjoki area is truly unique!

Treetop Adventure

SUP ABC – Flat Water Skills

A SUP instructor will take you through the basics of Stand Up Paddling techniques on flat water. After the SUP ABC's, you will be able to enjoy paddling safely on your own in flat waters. You will learn how to enter the water, how to get on and off the board, different paddling techniques, how to turn, and how to stay safe. You will also learn how to fall safely into the water and getting back on your board. Don't worry, it's just water!

Vuoksi Mini Tour by Bike

This 1-hour tour will show you the main attractions of Imatra. The route goes along the beautiful banks of the Vuoksi River. You will hear stories about the river and its rapids. You get to see the memorials of the English and Scottish racing drivers, Vernon Cottle and Jock Taylor, who died while participating in the Finnish GP in Imatra. You will learn about the war-time history of Imatra and see the beautiful War Veterans' Park. This tour can be finished at the Vuoksi Fishing Park where you can have a delicious fish lunch or just coffee or tea.
