Survival Skills in the Archipelago Wilderness

Spend three days in the archipelago nature, learning about the flora and fauna, basic wilderness skills and traditional craftmaking, with the help of a nature guide. This is a program for people who want an active stay in the archipelago, with plenty of fresh air guaranteed. In the three day programme, the first day is about getting to know the local flora and fauna, on day two you will learn wilderness skills and on day three you will learn about traditional crafts that were important in the archipelago. This programme can also be combined with a wild camping trip to a deserted island.

National Park by Bicycle

Experience Lapland on a Private Jet, Helicopter or Husky Safari

Would you like to go on a husky sledge ride, a reindeer safari or a snowmobile tour? We can take care of your travel arrangements to Lapland and even arrange an encounter with the indigenous Samí people. You can go heli-skiing or use a snowmobile to reach the best locations for skiing during your time in Finland. Sleep outside or in a warm glass igloo and watch the stars and Northern Lights – or enjoy the comfort of your private chalet. We can organize any and all activities!

Kayaking Course in Wild Taiga

Hikes 'n Trails organises tours and training sessions for groups and individuals. For example, a two-day educational canoe trip with a single kayak or open canoe at the big wilderness lakes in Suomussalmi. During the trip, the participants will learn about Finnish nature, the basics of kayaking in two days, how to cook nice meals by the open fire and overnight in a tent or in a cottage in the beautiful Wild Taiga area.

Hiking Trips in Tammisaari

The beautiful forests, scenic lakes and paths that stroll in between will take you for an unforgettable trip to Västerby natural area. You will enjoy the peacefulness of nature and you can relax by the campfire with coffee and snacks. The guide will tell you interesting things about Finnish nature.

Helsinki - Urban and Nature

A 3 hour walking tour in Helsinki including the following sights: the Senate Square, Esplanade, University Library, Railway Station and Music Center. Including also approximately a one hour walk on a nature track by the sea and forest. There's also a possibility to explore the Finnish sauna culture as well, if interested.

Guided Ice Fishing Trip

During this guided ice fishing trip, you will get to know traditional Finnish wintertime fishing. Our guide will teach you the basics and give special tips for catching perch, zander (pikeperch), and pike. Ice fishing means fishing through a hole in the ice that covers the lake. The hole will be drilled with a special ice drilling tool. An ice fishing backpack is included in the price (one per person) and you get to keep it afterwards. The ice drill is on loan. At the end of the fishing trip, the guide shows you how to prepare fish according to Finnish traditions.

Snowshoe Hike

Snowshoe hike to Koli's stunning peaks. First we have a short presentation of the basic rules of snowshoeing and then we will start our hike. While hiking we'll admire the views and have fun sliding down the hills and climp up small hills. The trip is suited for the whole family. You can choose a snowshoe hike lasting from 1h to a whole day.

Silent Twilight

Day sets for night, the ski slopes shut off their lights, and it's our turn to take over the slopes. Walking along the silent slope sides, we listen to the peace and quiet of the night while keeping breaks to admire the beauty of the night sky. Sit down and listen to the fire crackle while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and snacks. If we're lucky, we might even see the Northern Lights perform their dance in the night sky!

River Rafting Long Route

An adventurous day on the river and rapids through the Oulanka National Park. The route follows the Kitka River from Juuma to Oulanka. The Oulanka National Park has the most beautiful landscapes and the biggest rapids in Kuusamo. We pass the biggest rapid, Jyrävä, by foot. White water classifications I–IV.

Our trips include one or more of the following: - Cycling on or off-road - Canoeing / Kayaking / S.U.P. - Water-skiing / Wakeboarding / Tubing - Triathlon (running / swimming / cycling) We primarily focus on trips for groups, but please ask about our services for individuals.

Forest Tour – フォレストツアー

This tour offers you a chance to experience a real Finnish forest with a local guide. We trek into the forest where you can take your time exploring the nature, and if you’re lucky, you might find some berries. We enjoy a light sausage lunch by the campfire on the lakeside before returning to the city.

Fishing on River Juutuanjoki

River Juutuajoki flows through Inari and into Lake Inarijärvi after covering the 12 kilometers that separate it from Lake Solojärvi. In addition to the stunning surroundings, River Juutuajoki is also one of the country's most valued fly fishing destinations. Its reputation is due to the brown trout that migrates upstream from Lake Inarijärvi. It is also an excellent grayling river, where you can find very large sail-fins in the many rapids and strong currents.

Fishermans paradise –Enjoy the Riverlife

Whether it’s a hot or a rainy summer, the river never stops flowing. And where there's flowing water, there is fish. Trout, rainbow trout, salmon, grayling and whitefish are the kinds of fish you can find from Merikarvia River, the river that flows only 30 meters from the Niittyniemi Cottages. There's 24 kilometers of beautiful river to explore! Let your mind rest, breathe in the pure air and enjoy the beautiful nature.

Circle of Kätkä

If you wish to experience a slightly longer snowmobile safari with one of the best landscapes in Levi, choose this safari. The track circulates from fell valleys into open marshlands and snowy forests, offering you a versatile track to test your driving skills. We will have a coffee break behind Kätkä in the charming old log house of Hanhipirtti.

Helsinki City Kayak

City Tour by Kayak! Combine sport and culture to view Helsinki from an unconventional perspective. Our tour takes place within walking distance from downtown. Our 2 hour paddling tour starts from the southern end of Töölönlahti and we see a lot of the main attractions of Helsinki!
