Snowmobile Safari ABC at Ylläs

This is an exciting snowmobile safari for beginners as well as more experienced riders. After the safety and driving instructions, we ride snowmobiles through snowy forests, on frozen lakes and swamps in Western Lapland. Our skilled snowmobile guide teaches you proper driving techniques, how to cross roads and ways to drive safely on the ice. We stop for hot drinks and doughnuts on the way.

Tundra Adventures

Every year in April and May, we take our dogs further up north and spend weeks in the Arctic tundra of Finnish and Swedish Lapland. We pack all the necessary gear and food to our sleds and head for adventure! In April, we will offer some of our guests a unique chance to join us for a week. We will be sleeping in tents and lavvus (Lappish teepee) and in few locations, even in a cabin with a sauna. If you feel ready to join us for an adventure, please email us and we will make your dream come true!

Best of Lapland

For those who want it all! This diverse activity package gives you the best of what the Lappish winter has to offer. Enjoy a traditional day on a reindeer farm, including a reindeer safari with lunch around an open fire, spend an exciting day snowmobiling through the wilderness, and top it all off with a true wilderness experience: a two-day husky safari with your own dogsled, spending the night in a wilderness cabin. You can have it all!

Winter Fun in Finland

A multiactivity week full of winter fun! Your home base on this active week is Kylmäluoma in Northeastern Finland, where you can enjoy the peace of nature and snow-covered landscapes far away from tourist crowds. During the week you’ll get to try snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, husky sledding and igloo building, among other things. One of the tour highlights is an overnight snowshoeing trek to a wilderness cabin.

Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool

During the summer, the City of Helsinki offers a great opportunity for swimmers and sunbathers at the Kumpula outdoor swimming pool. The pool was built in 1952 as a training pool for the Olympic Games. The pool is Finland's third-oldest outdoor swimming pool.

Fishing Under the Midnight Sun

Come and experience the awesome once-in-a-lifetime chance to fish under the midnight sun. Our specialty is fly fishing for brown trout and grayling with our great guide – he really knows his home waters. Kuhmo has over 100 rapids and dozens of rivers to fish. This is The fishing trip to experience if you have never experienced the midnight sun! The fishing trip begins at 11 pm and we'll be back about 7 am. We can just enjoy fishing under the midnight sun, but you can also learn casting, water reading practices, dry flies, streamer techniques etc.

Snow and Ice Carving in the SnowCastle

This short but intensive program will familiarize the participants with the world of ice- and snow-carving in the spectacular SnowCastle area. An ice- and snow-carving professional will act as your teacher and tell you about the carving techniques and train you in using the equipment. During the program warm juice will be served.

Jenga with Summer Carriage / Autumn Thrill

An unforgettable experience in a summer carriage pulled by Huskies! The rides start as soon as the ground dries a little, around end of May. Jenga (500 m) is available when the temperature is under +15 degrees and our main guide finds the weather cool enough for Huskies to run. As the autumn gets colder, we'll open also the longer route Autumn Thrill. Even more fun! Departures daily after the guided tour, around 1.00–1.30 pm.


You won't find a better place for hiking or trekking anywhere else in northern Europe than Kakslauttanen. You can access the Urho Kekkonen National Park, one of Finland's largest natural conservation areas, right behind our cabins. And the Lemmenjoki National Park is just down the road too. Don't worry about taking water bottles with you either – the environment here is so clean that you can drink straight out of a mountain stream.

The Finnish summer with m/s Rhea is full of delicious a'la carte menu recommendations, theme buffet tables, festivities and band cruises. M/s Rhea is an ideal cruise ship for a beautiful Finnish summer night celebration, corporate events, and it can also be used for private events at the harbour.

Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre - Saana, Malla and Halti Fell - Käsivarsi Wilderness Area

Finland's wild northwestern arm – Käsivarsi – has the country's most mountainous scenery. Halti Fell, the highest peak in Finland, can be reached all year round along the challenging Nordkalottleden Trail. A shorter walk from the village Kilpisjärvi takes you to the top of the iconic Saana Fell. Or take a hike trough Malla Strict Nature Reserve or buy a boat trip to the Three Nations´ Border Point for Finland, Sweden and Norway. Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre sits at the foot of Saana Fell and offers a lot of information over the Käsivarsi Wilderness Area.

Rafting with a Wilderness Lunch

Are you a bit of a daredevil? You can choose from traditional wooden boat, rubber raft or wooden raft. Woodenboat-trip includes: 6 rapids, 31 km, wilderness lunch, duration about 3 hours. Rubber-rafting includes: 4 rapids, 8 km, wilderness lunch, duration about 3 hours.

Husky Adventure – Vuokatti

The fairytale scenery of the taiga forests gives way to the beauty of the frozen lakes. A feeling of open space and peaceful motion awaits you. Along the way, you will stop on a secluded island and enjoy our famous “musher’s burger” served in the warmth of our traditional Mongolian yurt. We carry 2 persons per sled, and after the break at the yurt, the driver and passenger can switch places. This tour is 20 km and the duration is about 4 hours.

Naturephotography for Beginners

This tour is for those who have recently bought their first proper camera or would like to try out nature photography with one. There is one camera to borrow, so a group will have to share, and you need to bring an SD card so you can take your pictures with you (a 4GB card is enough for about 300 pictures). The tour can be arranged in any of the environments on the Åland islands.

Ski Tour on the Russian Border

A classic among Upitrek tours and a perfect choice for your first cross-country skiing tour in Finland! The guided hut-to-hut tour follows the Eastern Border Winter Trail right on the Russian border. The skiing distance is approximately 100 km, which is covered in 5 days. Guaranteed international departures in Feb-March. You ski, we take care of the rest!

Bear Watching Evening

Welcome to the Finnish wilderness, where you can see Europes’ largest carnivore in its natural habitat! Hiking Adventure

Forest Hiking Adventure close to River Kymijoki – one of Finland's greatest rivers! Join us on a hiking trip that takes you into pine forests, to swamps where you can enjoy the smell of wild rosemary, and climbing up rocks to see amazing views of Kymijoki. We start the hike from the Yli-Kaitala Farm and head towards Harakkakoski, where we have lunch by the open fire. After lunch we continue on the trail hugging the banks of River Kymijoki. After the hike, you can enjoy a relaxing sauna and swim in the fresh waters of Lake Kettujärvi. Duration is approximately 6 hours (incl. lunch and sauna).
