Visa-Free to Russia - a City Break with 1 day in Vyborg

Take a boat to Vyborg! Get onboard in Lappeenranta and make a trip to Vyborg - full of great experiences! Vyborg has a long and famous history, known as one of today's oldest towns in Russia. The center of Vyborg, the historic city center, has been restored a lot and the work still continues. For travelers Vyborg offers a unique atmosphere, versatile culture and historical sights. Take a visa-free cruise to Vyborg from Lappeenranta harbour by Finnish m/s Carelia along the historic Saimaa Canal. In Vyborg you have a few hours to see the city.

Ice-floating under the Northern Lights

Dip yourself into a frozen river under the skies, tiny snowflakes falling on your face, and let your mind rest, feel weightless. If the weather is clear, you can see beautiful stars, and if we are lucky, we may even see Northern Lights dancing in the sky… Our high-quality floating rescue suit covers your whole body and keeps you warm and dry. As you have your own clothing under the suit, you will not get cold even in the open 0-degree water. Notice: Minimum height for floating is 145 cm. No swimming skills required.

Reindeer Safaris

Reindeer are the most iconic animals of Lapland and reindeer sleighs are the ancient Sámi way of getting around. Our speed is moderate, which makes the safaris suitable for all ages. A reindeer ride is a magical trip into nature, hosted by local Sámi reindeer herders who tell you about the way of life in the wilderness. We offer varying lengths of safaris, with the longest including an outdoor lunch.

Aurora Safari

Experience the glow of the northern lights! We will depart, when the darkness falls. Out in the wilderness we keep our eyes on the ever-changing skies. If we are lucky we will catch a glimpse of the northern lights. The safari covers about 35km's and lasts for 2-3 hours. During the safari we will serve warm drinks.

Husky Tour for You Two

This tour takes you through the beautiful Taiga wilderness with only the sounds of the dogs breathing and their paws hitting the snow. First and the last night are spent at Hotel Kalevala. In between you spend time at a small huskyfarm that is situated on the lakeshore with no close neighbours. You will be the only guests and stay in a room with a fireplace and view to the lake. The hosts will cook you a dinner using lots of local ingredients and share their home and lifestyle with you for a while.

Santa´s Reindeer on Their Holidays

Meet friendly reindeers on their summer holidays in Lapland. During the busy wintertime these male reindeers pull the sleighs for Santa and also take the guests for sleigh ride. Summertime is their holiday. You can call the reindeer to you by whistling and after that you can feed them. Remember to bring your camera so the guide can take a picture of you and the reindeer spending their holidays! Barbecuing sausage in an open fire and juice are included in the excursion.

Berry and Mushroom Picking Tour

During the trip the guide will help you find berries and mushrooms for you to pick and eat in a nearby forest. Afterwards you will prepare and eat them in the Lappish hut by the open fire. Duration 2,5-3 hours. Trips available between mid-July and September.

Visit Santa Claus Village and a Husky Farm in Rovaniemi

Our safari starts with a visit to a reindeer and husky farm with guided tours. We meet an authentic reindeer herder and husky musher and have a chance to take photos of the reindeer and huskies and see how life at the farms is. Before continuing our journey, we sit down by the fireplace to relax with a cup of coffee and hear stories about life with the reindeer.

Kolovesi National Park

Kolovesi is a paddler's paradise, where rocky cliffs rise over the narrow lake channels that form part of the vast labyrinthine Saimaa Lake System. Ancient rock paintings give insights into how Finland's early settlers lived in harmony with nature thousands of years ago. With luck you might spot a Saimaa ringed seal, thought to be the rarest seal anywhere in the world. Adventurous boaters and paddlers can explore lengthy waterway routes that also connect to Linnansaari National Park.

Landscape Tour

This easy yet diverse 3-hour tour includes driving on a frozen lake and in the woods on varied terrain. No previous experience is needed. On our break, you will enjoy a delicious soup lunch before heading back. On snowmobile safaris, we provide you with: - warm driving overalls - boots - helmet & hat - gloves You should bring with you: - warm socks (we have some if necessary!) - warm long underwear - fleece or pullover (especially if it's more than 15 degrees below zero!) - contact lenses (if applicable)

Floating under the Northern Lights in Rovaniemi

Float into a cold lake under the Northern Lights and let yourself go – sounds bizarre doesn’t it! You will have the opportunity for an excursion in a private, secret venue in the middle of the Lappish wilderness. Guided floating is safe with a high-quality rescue suit that covers your whole body and keeps you dry. As you have your own clothing under the suit you will not get cold even in the open 0-degree water. The environment is truly arctic! If the weather is clear, you can see beautiful stars and may even get to marvel magnificent the Northern Lights.

Excursion to a Husky Farm

After a short transfer, we will arrive at the husky farm where we will be met by the cute Arctic sled dogs that are enjoying their well-earned summer holiday! You will have a chance to get up close with the dogs and hear fascinating stories of their lives throughout the year, and how they love their work during the winter! Enjoy a peaceful break by the open fire in a traditional kota, complete with delicious sausages and a cup of hot juice before returning to Levi by car. Duration: 2 hours.

Sipoonkorpi National Park

The woodlands of Sipoonkorpi lie within easy reach of the Finnish capital, Helsinki. The woods are surrounded by rolling fields and picturesque villages. Sipoonkorpi's peaceful settings are a welcome green haven for local townies, especially in late summer and autumn when anyone can come here to gather plentiful wild mushrooms and berries.

Visit our Husky Park

Come and see life at the Husky Park! You can take photos, visit our beautiful park and meet the Siberian Huskies. A guided tour in our park is included in the entrance fee, starting daily at noon (duration 30–60 minutes). You will see our huskies running free, eager to meet guests and maybe also play a little! Note! All commercial use of photos must be agreed upon in advance.

Willow Grouse Hunting

We organize willow grouse hunting experience for small groups. For hunting we use German pointer dogs – those faithful servants of hunters point us the birds. The rhythm of the day depends on the fitness of your group. It says how long the day trips are, the length of our lunch breaks and should we use transportation to get you closer to the best hunting destinations. We can’t – and we don’t want to – promise the game because it is nature’s decision. But we can promise that the day will be a remarkable experience for you and your group.

Stay in Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Pori & Green Fee at Nakkila Golf

Nakkila Golf is the Satakunta region's newest 18-hole golf course, just 20 minutes from the centre of Pori. The par 69 course is kind to golf novices, but also holds enough challenge for more experienced players. This golf package includes accommodation in a double room at Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna in Pori, breakfast, sauna, Nakkila Golf green fee and free access to the hotel's EasyFit gym.

Ski School at Himos Ski Resort

Whether you are skiing for the very first time or wish to fine-tune your technique, our Himoset ski instructors have a program for you, including lessons in telemark and snowboarding. Note that our instructors are very good indeed; they have won the Finnish Championship several times in between Finnish ski schools. Sessions are organized on the western slopes on weekends and during vacation periods. Don’t forget to reserve your lessons in advance on weekends as well as weekdays outside vacation periods!

Canoe Adventure in the Wilderness

This self-guided canoeing tour will bring you to the unspoilt waters of Hossa National Park in Eastern Finland. The tour flows along small rivers, winding their way around eskers and through lakes, allowing you to enjoy typical Finnish landscapes of lakes dotted with small islands. Small rapids offer diversity to the otherwise calm waterways along the way. In the evenings you can enjoy a campfire before heading for your sleeping bag.

Active Golden Circle

We will start our active day with a horse sleigh ride to our private Arctic Marina Ounas Pavilion. There, we will have a thrilling snowmobile safari in a beautiful frozen river valley! We continue having fun on a safe ice karting track. Then it is time to enjoy our traditional Lappish lunch, salmon soup, at the Ounas Pavilion restaurant. Finally, we will meet our horses, ready to take us back to the city. The day includes: horse sleigh ride, 1h snowmobile safari, 1h ice karting race, mini snowmobiles for children, lunch.

Full-Day Husky Tour

Dress up warm and get ready for your "dream come true" - day! We will drive ca. 40 km during the day, having several small stops and finally a lunch break by a fireplace. Each one is driving with their own sled and four dogs. Tranquility, snow covered trees and amazing sceneries are waiting for you!
