Explore the Secrets of Örö Island

The fortress island of Örö has been a part of Finnish military history from the times of Russian tsars. The island was closed off from the public until 2015 and only restricted entry was possible. Örö has around 20 km of hiking and nature trails. The island is home to many rare plants and has the largest variety of butterflies in all of Finland. The hotel and restaurant are renovated in protected old buildings. You can rent kayaks and bicycles on the island. Come and explore the fortress island!

Welcome to the Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre

Kilpisjärvi is the northernmost village in Western Lapland. It is the last Finnish village before reaching Norway on the Aurora Borealis Scenic Road. It is located at the foot of the Saana Fell in the middle of the Arctic high-fell area. The Centre's permanent exhibition ”At the Edge of Scandinavia” introduces the Malla and Saana Nature Reserves, Käsivarsi Wilderness Area, and the history of human residence in Kilpisjärvi. The Visitor Centre is provided for visitors, tourists, fishers, and hikers on the Nordkalottleden Trail. Maps, posters, and fishing permits for sale. Free entry.

Reindeer Safari – Rovaniemi

The canine members of our small family kennel include huskies of all ages from youngster to pensioner – every dog ready to become your new best friend! You can also participate in the daily routines of the kennel. Suitable for all. Duration: 1 hour

Winter Activity Day Tours

In the winter time, there are a number of activities you can enjoy with us for! Skiing, snow kiting, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, fatbiking, ice fishing, visiting a reindeer herder, sledding... First snow usually falls in October. The Polar Night starts in October and ends in mid-January. The high season for auroras begins in November and lasts until March. Our kite school is open until May.

Nightless Night Canoe Trip

See the Land of a Thousand Lakes where the sun doesn’t set, experience the nightless night on water! Your guide will tell you all you need to know about canoeing and we slide the canoes into the water. Slowly canoeing along idyllic Lake Rautusjärvi, we admire the beauty of the midnight sun and the peaceful evening. We talk about our different seasons and how they show here in the north. We will have a break at the shore to have some snacks and maybe even go for a midnight dip in the water.

Aurora Borealis Safari by Snowmobile

Experience the Arctic night by driving through the snow-covered forest and on the frozen river. With a little luck, you’ll travel under a bright sky lit by the moon and the stars. Perhaps the Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights – will appear to show you the way. Sip warm beverages and savour a snack by a campfire and learn more about the Northern Lights and Lapland.

Reindeer Sledge Ride

Experience a cheerful safari on a reindeer sledge at Lake Silmäsjärvi. During the safari, we will go ice fishing and pick up fishing nets from the lake. We grill sausages on an open fire, smoke the fish caught (you can keep them after the safari) and brew some coffee on the fire.

Circle of Levi

All the way around, up and down Levi fell! Follow the guide and he will lead you into the snowy landscapes of Levi, driving all around the fell and enjoying its scenery as much as admiring the beautiful river Ounasjoki.  If the weather favours us, we will also drive to the top of Levi! Our guides have a sweet tooth so you will stop some berry juice and buns!

Refreshing Outdoor Weekend

No light pollution, only fresh air and fascinating nature scenery between lakes and forests await you. Our special weekend package introduces you to our most popular activities, fatbike rides and canoeing or wintertime snowshoeing. During the day, you will enjoy these sports safely with our guide. Our routes take you along the Kanta-Häme region, including the deepest swamp in Finland. In the evening, you can warm up in one of our cozy lakeside saunas and take a dip in the water. Some nights when the sky is clear, you might even see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis)!
