Midnight Sun Golf in Southern Finland

Ruunaa Hiking Area

The wild white waters of Ruunaa's rivers can be enjoyed from a rocking raft by thrill-seekers, or from a shady riverbank by keen anglers. You can paddle your own canoe here, or join a guided rafting or paddling excursion. A great way to round off a day in the wilds is to grill a freshly hooked fish on your campfire.

Helsinki by Kayak

Explore Helsinki as close to the sea as you can get! Our daily 3-hour guided paddling trip will take you to the archipelago of Helsinki, characterized by clear water, rocky islands and sandy beaches. The kayaks are easy to handle and very stable and the tour suits beginners and experts alike.

Though Evo is within easy reach of Finland's largest cities, you still feel you are in the heart of the forest. Ramble along easy trails or take a longer hike. Evo's forests are home to wildlife including elk, lynx and beavers. Facilities by Evo's excellent fishing waters are designed to be accessible for fishers of all ages. Nature Friendly Family Rafting

Before we head into the first rapid we’ll practice our rafting skills and safety instructions on a lake. At first we get to explore class 1 rapids – this will be a good warm up! In class 2 rapids we will test our team work skills and have fun. The final rapid class III Harjakoski will give you a good challenge and a nice refreshing splash of water! While paddling the river downstream we can experience the nature around us and enjoy the sound of birds and streaming water. Bigger lake areas we drive trough by nature-friendly electric outboard engine or four stroke outboard engine.

A Shortcut

Spend an exciting day as a reindeer herder in Nuorgam, Northern Finland. Your native Sámi guide will take you to check his reindeer stock somewhere in the Arctic wilderness – only he knows where. You will experience herding and feeding the reindeer by snowmobile and sled. Enjoy local delicacies by the fire and let your mind rest in the quiet. Unwind and breathe the cleanest air in the world. Welcome to the northernmost part of the European Union!

Feel the Horse

When you arrive at Lucky Ranch, we'll introduce you to our horses. After saddling up in the stable, we'll move to the round pen and let the horse free. You'll learn how to communicate with the horse as you would in a wild herd. Then we do some exercises that keep the horse flexible and in balance. Once you feel comfortable, it's time to get in the saddle. Our Quarterhorse Roy and Appalosa Oliver are trained Western Horses, and they will teach you how to ride Western Style. Afterwards we will enjoy a hot beverage by the open fire and talk about your experience.

Visit to a Local Family Farm and Skiing with Huskies

Welcome to visit a tiny family run husky farm near Rovaniemi, where the eight huskies are considered as members of the family. Skiing with the huskies is great fun, but it demands previous experience of alpine or cross-country skiing. The distance of the ride is 5-10km, depending on the weather conditions and your skills. After a thrilling adventure we will stop by a fireplace and have a warm drink and a little snack. This visit it suitable only for families, couples or friends – and the max. group size is 6 guests, with limited availability.

Horse Rides with Sleigh and Carts

A traditional ride to a lean-to in the forest is one activity favoured by many. The gentle sounds of the sleigh, warm felt blankets, and the gentle voice of your guide will introduce you to the legends of an old and the almost forgotten way of life. Enjoy the gentle journey through the picturesque landscapes of frozen Pirkanmaa and sample delicious snacks with coffee brewed on the open fire.

Easy Snowmobile Safari

Get a taste of snowmobile driving on varying terrain through snow-covered forests and fells. We offer a range of routes suitable for various skill levels. This is great fun, regardless whether you are a first-timer or have experienced snowmobiling before. A pleasant introduction with excellent snowmobiles and equipment!

Shop Like a Local

If you are curious about where the local people shop for their daily life, join our guide on a shopping tour by car. We will browse around in the supermarket to spot the typical Finnish grocery products, take a peek into a huge flee market to search for possible treasures and go see what locals need to buy for their hobbies – hunting, fishing, snowmobiling. Maybe you’ll even find some souvenirs!
 The selection of shops visited can vary according to the interests of the participants.

Rowing Boat / Canoeing Trip

Enjoy a wonderful nature experience with a rowing boat/canoe. This 6-day trip is available in the summer and includes accommodation during the 1st and 5th night in a twin log granary, sauna, row boat/canoe, lifejacket and a map.

Fat Bike Trip to Santa's Creek

Fat bikes are mountain bikes with extra-wide tires, which make riding on soft surfaces easier and more gentle for the forest. Our route goes through the beautiful landscapes of Saariselkä's forests and over the fells. Hear stories about the Nordic nature, and with a little bit of luck, we might see some Nordic animals like reindeer, Siberian jays and willow grouse. At the Santa’s creek, you can enjoy a break and a snack around the open fire. Return to Saariselkä by bike.

Hossa Hiking Area for Fishers

Hossa is a paradise for anyone keen to go fishing or canoeing in natural waters surrounded by wild green forests. Hossa also has hospitable trails and other facilities to welcome visitors. The Hossa fishing waters have naturally strong perch and whitefish stocks. The ponds and lakes are ideal for fishing from the shore, and rowboats may be rented from the Nature Centre. The Hossanjoki river area is 5 km long and it contains ten different rapids with naturally strong grayling stocks. Catch-size trout is also planted into the river. Hossa has been nominated to be a national park by summer 2017.

Tour de Rokua by Snowshoes

Who is the King of the Hill at Pookivaara? You will learn the secrets of snowshoeing first. After learning a bit about the technique the group will enjoy a tour by the local Pookivaara hill, where you can walk with the snowshoes towards the top of the hill. From there you can admire the beautiful winter scenery, and finally, we will enjoy warm refreshment by the hillside. The overall distance is approx. 2 – 3 km.
