Slow Lakeland

Choose a program of your interest and deepen your understanding of Finnish nature, culture, traditions. The idea is that, over five-ten days, you do at least one relaxing thing and fill your body and mind with pure air and positive thoughts and you have left stresses of real life far behind you. Once you’ve spent a few days exploring… go off-line and slip into a meditative state!

Recharge Between Flights

Tired after a long flight? Nuuksio National Park, located just 30 minutes from the Helsinki international airport, is an extensive area of unspoilt forest with rich local flora and fauna. This trip takes you to the national park where you can experience Finnish nature for yourself. Take a deep breath, listen to the silence and empty your mind of any stressful thoughts. Private return transfers, free time to explore the nature and entrance fee to Haltia Nature Center included. Duration: 1 day.

Mindfulness & Meditation in Silence

Explore the beauty of nature and fresh air, focus on breathing in the LOVE and float away with meditation guidance. Finland offers an abundance of clean air and silence that help you focus and relax. Depending on weather we usually start our mindfulness practice in Helsinki. We can customize your experience according to your wishes and needs, by yourself or in a group up to 100 persons. Duration: 1–2 hours We do not have limits.

Evening in the Forest

We start our walk with the last light of the day. You can feel the silence falling over the forest – it relaxes your mind. We follow the path and take a break by the open fire. When we come back, we already need our headlights to find our way! Duration: 3 hours. Time: 17.00–20.00 or 15.00–18.00 (December) Season: October–December, March–April Equipment: shoes suitable for walking in the forest, warm outdoor clothes

Family Nature Holiday

Relaxed family holidays are about enjoying seasonal activities in nature and experiencing complete immersion into the wilderness. In the winter, we explore the surrounding landscape by skiing and snowshoeing, and watching Auroras is possible right outside the cabin. During summer and autumn, the main activities are hiking, fishing, berry picking and observing nature. Daily adventures are balanced by the comfort of bathing in the sauna and tasty meals prepared by using local ingredients.

Walking Meditation in Rapola

Come and experience a relaxing walking meditation in the unique milieu of Voipaala Manor garden and the ancient fortress of Rapola ridge. Walking meditation is a functional way of relaxing. It is not sitting alone but walking together – in silence – allowing you to have a break to everyday routines and spend time undisturbed in the peace of your own mind. The meditation combines light exercise, fresh air and the beauty of nature. Afterwards, the process is summarized in a conversation, giving the participants the opportunity for sharing experiences and insights with their fellow walkers.

Forest Bath

The old farmhouse is surrounded by diverse nature. Pine forests, groves, gorgeous spruce forests and the swamp of Syöliö are magnificent places to discover the secrets of the peaceful forest. The healing effect of the forest is miraculous! The nature track of Iloranta allows you to experience the magical forests of Finland. You get to know Finnish forest culture over the ages, and you might even get to see some of the forest animals! The trip ends under ancient pines with a campfire coffee and a stick bun.

Nature and Silence Tour

On this tour you will explore the pristine Arctic nature of the Pallas-Ylläs national park on a three days' snow-shoe safari and the nearby wilderness on a two-day husky safari. For five days you will hardly even see the lights of smaller villages. With at most six people in the group, we ensure a serene atmosphere. The tour takes place in the area of Levi-Muonio, one of the best places on Earth to hunt for Northern Lights, as listed by CNN.

Seita Forest Spa

In this euphoric underground oasis, visitors will find three different types of saunas, including a herbal sauna, a smoke sauna and a traditional sauna. The warmth of the herbal sauna is combined with round energy stones brought in from the riverbed – let your feet rest on them. Once you emerge refreshed from the sauna, you can indulge yourself and relax and dine in the adjoining rooms. The spa also provides natural remedies and offers a variety of treatments from hot packs to massages.

Wilderness Retreat

Connect to the vast wilderness of the Paistunturi fell area and the vastness of your own inner nature. During the 4-day retreat, we go on slow, 3-4 hour hikes in the wilderness, meditate in our small group (max 6 persons) and reflect on our experience in a safe and respectful space. Guided by Anna (mindfulness instructor, life coach, human-nature connection enthusiast), you have the chance to experience nature's healing effects and learn more of your own inner power.

Relaxing Day of Silence and Art

The venue for this day is the most beautiful and relaxing surroundings around Lake Kemijärvi. Our day is a combination of a tranquil journey through contemplative and inspiring moments of meditation, silence and solitude as well as guided interactive moments of encountering art and the act of painting. Personal guidance is given by trained retreat counsellor and artist Pirkko Mäkelä-Haapalinna. The participants are encouraged to reflect their emotions and feelings through art and discussions. During the day, our participants are served an intimate lunch together with the artist.
