The Beautiful Canal Route

Active Family Week

This active week is fun for the whole family! You get to see friendly Huskies, bounce around at Angry Birds Activity Park, and ski – even in the summertime – at the Vuokatti ski tunnel! Accommodation included!

Arboretum with Woodland Garden, Café, Garden Centre and Wine Estate

Arboretum Mustila was founded in 1902 as a test site for exotic trees. Today it remains a unique area of introduced trees and horticultural plants in Europe. Nearly 100 conifer species, more than 200 broad-leaved tree species and numerous shrubs, vines, bulbs and perennials have been planted in the arboretum, covering 120 hectares. What makes Mustila unique are the large, naturally developing stands that support most of the trees. Visitors can also enjoy our cafés, a Garden Centre, Wine Estate, and sheltered trails in the wild exotic forest.

Viking Village Tour

The entrance fee to the Viking Centre includes a guide map for the village and all exhibitions. For a richer experience you can book a guide for the tour, and we will also teach you how to throw a Viking axe!

Floating in the Lake

Put on a drysuit and jump into the freezing water. Floating among the ice is very comfortable and fun when you stay warm and dry. In the evening you can admire the stars in the sky and relax in the quiet. During the day, you can enjoy the bright winter sun. You can also find your inner Saimaa ringed seal and crawl around on the ice! You will receive warm clothes, drysuits and life vests for your safety and comfort.

Southern Konnevesi National Park

At the Southern Konnevesi National Park visitors can enjoy the wide open waters on a boat or canoe, navigating through a maze of islands among smooth glacial rocks and vertical rock walls. You can glimpse through the clear waters and into the depths that harbour the wild brown trout. Breathtaking contrasts characterise this national park. You can trek from herb-rich forests to high cliffs for a view over the magnificent landscape of the osprey.

Husky Hiking

Hiking with huskies is a very nice way to get to know our doggies. Your dog will have a harness with a leash attached to a belt worn by you. One husky can accompany 1 or 2 customers. Our friendly and strong dogs will make the hike easier for you – you can admire their power as they pull you forward. We can do treks to Oulanka National Park or Riisitunturi National Park or start from our Husky farm in Rukajärvi, where you also can meet our 200 huskies and other domestic animals.

Treetop Adventure at Zippy

Zippy is one of the largest treetop adventure parks in Finland. Zip lines, ladders, trapezes, swings and other challenges in the middle of a beautiful forest will make your adventure experience truly memorable. The courses have different difficulty levels to ensure you get an appropriate amount of excitement and adrenaline. We also have a Kids' Land for toddlers and children. Easy to reach by public transportation or by car, Zippy is located only 6 km from the Helsinki Central railway station.

Cottage

Our 17 m² log cabins accommodate 6 persons. They have two bunk beds and a mezzanine floor with two beds. The cabins also have a table, chairs and refrigirator. A total of five cabins available. Kitchen, toilets and showers (free) are located in the service building 20–50 meters from the cabins. Wi-Fi free of charge.

Wilderness Hiking Near the Russian Border

A slightly more demanding 7 day hiking tour in Eastern Finland near the Russian border. We cover approximately 20 km per day. The route passes through wilderness areas with pristine untouched nature, ending each evening in a comfortable accommodation, where you can enjoy local hospitality and delicious regional foods. Bear watching safari as optional extra. You are guided by a pre-programmed GPS device which acts as a map, compass and route description. A mobile phone is included for emergencies, as well as a nature guide booklet with maps and points of interest.

Fox Trail in Repovesi National Park (3 h)

Guided Hiking in Repovesi National Park Hike the park's most popular path, the Fox Trail. During the tour, your guide tells you about Finnish nature. You also learn Finnish cooking by preparing a picnic. The tour gives you an insight into Finnish nature. Highlights: Suspension bridge Campfire picnic Ferry The hike is easy and covers about 5 km.

Archipelago Dinner Cruise

Welcome aboard to discover the beautiful Helsinki archipelago onboard the atmospheric and elegant restaurant boat M/S Aava. Enjoy the seasview and a delicious á la carte dinner.

Cabin Holiday

Eden cottages are located by a sheltered sea inlet in the middle of the Åland Islands. The cottages are built of snag pine and are equipped with all modern facilities. The cottages are situated near the Åland Golf course and all major sights of Åland. A boat for fishing trips is also available.

Wild Food Hiking Trip in Pure Nature

Rovaniemi is the ideal place for berry and mushroom picking. Berry picking is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and unwind in the midst of natural beauty. Our guide will tell you the basics about our totally fresh food ingredients, which you can collect and taste straight from the clean forest. After spending time in the forest, we will proceed with the most delicious part of the safari: baking traditional pancakes on the open fire. And fresh pancakes are of course most delicious when you eat them with freshly picked berries!

Meet the Forest

My number one favourite thing to do is simply walking in the forest. Forests have such a peaceful and calm atmosphere that it is impossible to come out from a forest with a frown – a smile is always guaranteed! A forest is a good listener when you are sad or stressed and will also dance with you when you are so happy that you just can't hide it. Spend a little time in the fresh air, watch the blue sky and feel the presence of the peaceful old trees around you, maybe even see some wild animal – this is the forest.

One Day of Silence Trek (7h)

The One Day Silence trek (7h) offers a possibility to be silent in nature of Sanginjoki area close to the city of Oulu. You will have guidance into forest bathing and exercises of eco-therapy. Relax and open your senses to listening, seeing, touching, tasting and connecting - and feel the effects in your well-being!

River Rafting with a Car Tyre

Have a go at an unforgettable speed-filled experience by shooting through Lappish rapids in a car tyre. The tyre spins, the water splashes and laughter comes easily! You will study and plan the route in advance under the leadership of your guide.

Vuoksi Mini Tour by Bike

This 1-hour tour will show you the main attractions of Imatra. The route goes along the beautiful banks of the Vuoksi River. You will hear stories about the river and its rapids. You get to see the memorials of the English and Scottish racing drivers, Vernon Cottle and Jock Taylor, who died while participating in the Finnish GP in Imatra. You will learn about the war-time history of Imatra and see the beautiful War Veterans' Park. This tour can be finished at the Vuoksi Fishing Park where you can have a delicious fish lunch or just coffee or tea.

Canoe Rental by the Day

The lake at Tahko Holiday Center invites you on a leisurely paddle in our three-seater Winkkari 17 canoe. Rental time is between 09.00-17.00, but if agreed upon, you can stay even longer and enjoy an evening on the lake!
