Hunting Northern Lights with Huskies

Enjoy the Northern night, sitting in a sled being pulled by a husky team! The darkness of the night or the magical lights dancing in the sky create a breathtaking atmosphere, which can only be experienced in Lapland! The silence of the wilderness around us is broken only by the smooth sounds of the sled skis. We will stop to warm up a little in a goahti, where we also grill sausages and drink hot juice. If Lapland’s magic is on our side and the Northern Lights show themselves to us, you also have a chance to photograph the Northern Lights.

Genuine Countryside, Art and Nature

Come and relax in the midst of beautiful Finnish countryside! Experience the sauna, swim in a lake, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Overnight in the historically valuable, rustic surroundings of the Vehkaniemi Estate, located in the village of Pohjaslahti. Day 1: Art Tour in Mänttä-Vilppula, including Serlachius Museum Gösta Day 2: Hiking in Helvetinjärvi National Park Both Serlachius Museum Gösta and Helvetinjärvi are some 30 kilometres from the Vehkaniemi Estate.

Cottage Holiday

For over 50 years, we have provided accommodation in Naaranlahti, in the comfort and peace of Lake Puruvesi. Our private cottages are well equipped with their own beach, rowing boat, and sauna. On top of rest and relaxation, you can enjoy all kinds of activities in Naaranlahti: the nearby forests offer trekking and horseback riding possibilities, and you can rent canoes, rowing and motor boats, fishing equipment, skiing equipment and snow mobiles. In the autumn the area around the cottages is great for berry and mushroom picking.

Children's Winter Park

The Porokylä Winter Park gives the whole family a chance to play in the snow. The entrance fee includes the use of the carousel sled, snow shoes, children’s snowmobiles and toboggan slide. The cafeteria provides warm drinks, which you can enjoy by the fireplace. During Christmas, Santa will visit Porokylä and the reindeers. The park is open in December–March depending on snow conditions. See the opening hours on our website!

Ice Climbing Day in Korouoma Canyon

Ice Climbing Day Trip to the Korouoma Gorge in Posio, where the mightiest ice falls in Finland are located – some up to 60 meters tall. It is an amazing conservation area with rich flora and fauna. Experience Finland's best ice climbing venue with professional guides. Korouoma is located roughly 2 h 30 minutes by car from Pyhätunturi, 1 h 30 minutes from Rovaniemi.
 An overnight stay nearby the gorge is also possible for additional cost (a basic wilderness hut or a comfy cottage).

Survival Skills in the Archipelago Wilderness

Spend three days in the archipelago nature, learning about the flora and fauna, basic wilderness skills and traditional craftmaking, with the help of a nature guide. This is a program for people who want an active stay in the archipelago, with plenty of fresh air guaranteed. In the three day programme, the first day is about getting to know the local flora and fauna, on day two you will learn wilderness skills and on day three you will learn about traditional crafts that were important in the archipelago. This programme can also be combined with a wild camping trip to a deserted island.

Snow Surfing at Lucky Ranch

The Pyhä area is a freerider's paradise. The long season and heavy snowfall mean there is always something to shred. You can reach the Soutaja backcountry without transportation from Lucky Ranch. Lucky Ranch is a test centre for Ilahu snow surfboards and home to many freeriders. Price includes a guide, a snow surfboard, hot drinks, and snacks. Suitable even for beginners.

Fishing Package at River Kokemäenjoki

Enjoy fishing, dinner and accommodation at the beautiful River Kokemäenjoki. The package includes a six hour fishing day with boat transportation ang guiding, lifejackets, fishing licences, fishing gears (fly and spin), lunch, accommodation, breakfast and dinner.

Forest Tour – フォレストツアー

This tour offers you a chance to experience a real Finnish forest with a local guide. We trek into the forest where you can take your time exploring the nature, and if you’re lucky, you might find some berries. We enjoy a light sausage lunch by the campfire on the lakeside before returning to the city.

Kiskonjoki Canoeing

Paddling trip in rugged river settings. You will learn the secrets of river paddling Canadian canoes and kayaks, under the guidance of an experienced guide. Length of the trip is approximately 15 km and duration about 5 hours. Halfway through the trip, we'll serve you coffee and snack.

Bothnian Sea National Park in Rauma Archipelago

The national park area in front of Rauma has more than 30 kilometres of marked hiking trails. Underwater nature and cultural heritage are particularly important for the Bothnian Sea National Park. Boating, cruises, hiking and birdwatching are the best ways to explore the archipelago. The tourist islands of Rauma are easily accessible by water bus in the summertime. The timetables also allow for overnight stays on the islands.

2-Day Trip to Svanstein and Miekojärvi

Are you ready for the winter wilderness? Leave with us for a two-day trip full of wilderness experiences. First up we drive to a traditional reindeer farm in Sinettä. Come face-to-face with the majestic animals and ride a reindeer-drawn sleigh. Then we continue to Svanstein, a premier skiing location for some downhill skiing and a barbecue lunch. After all the excitement and exercise, we continue to our lakeside cabin for some well-deserved relaxation and some time in the lakeside sauna. Next, spend the night in our “Aurora Nest” with a see-through roof, for the ultimate Aurora night...

Arctic Island Aurora Adventure

When the night falls, we will get comfortable in warm Olokolo nests which will be pulled by snowmobiles to the nearby Adventure Island. Once on the wintry and snowy sea shores, we will explore the Island on snowshoes, observing the Northern Sky above us. The Island lies a short ride away from the City, but away from the city lights – a perfect location to spot Northern Lights and admire the stars and moon in the Arctic sky.

Horseback Riding with Finnish Horses & Accommodation

Our peaceful and trustworthy Finnish horses will take you to the beautiful countryside. Trips can include a picnic or a swim with the horse after the ride, according to your wishes. In the training field you can try out horseback riding with an instructor. During the winter our horses are available for rides with a sleigh on the snow. For over 50 years we have provided accommodation in Naaranlahti and comfort in the peaceful and relaxing environment of Lake Puruvesi. The cottages, rooms and apartments are well-equipped with their own beach, a rowing boat, sauna as well as privacy.

Korouoma Ice Waterfalls

Korouoma is a 30 km long geological fracture valley in Posio. It is part of a fracture zone in the bedrock which is hundreds of millions of years old. At the center, the fracture valley forms a gorge with high cliff faces. Small streams cascade down the cliff faces in the summer and freeze into beautiful frozen waterfalls during winter, making Korouoma the number one ice climbing destination in Finland. We take a bus to Korouoma Canyon, where we move on snowshoes or on foot depending on the snow level, and admire the famous canyon landscape. A light lunch is served at a camp fire.
