Archipelago National Park Kayaking Expedition

Experience the Finnish Archipelago: sea, nature and culture in the best possible way, by a sea kayak! We will paddle in the unique southwest archipelago of Finland, the most extensive and, in our opinion, the most unique archipelago in the world. No previous kayaking experience is needed.

Taste of Finnish Nature

First, you must build a fire without matches. Only then can you begin preparing a Finnish creamy salmon or vegetable soup cooked over an open fire. This is a hands-on tour set in the beauty of the Finnish countryside, a unique twist on your standard holiday meal. Highlights: -Build a fire the traditional way (without matches or lighters!) -Cook traditional Finnish soup on open fire from pure local ingredients -Relax in the silence of nature

Feel the Pure Nature

Open your senses and let us guide you through an exhilarating experience in the Lappish nature. Refresh yourself amidst the forest where nature's scents and sounds charm you and capture all your attention. We'll pack our backpacks and trek over forest paths. As we walk along the worn paths, we'll stop to pick seasonal berries, mushrooms and wild foods and taste the flavours of the forest. We´ll also see, feel, and experience the diversity of nature and its beneficial powers.

Summer Activities Day Tours

Dark Arctic winters have their counterpart in one of the most iconic of Finnish natural phenomena, the Midnight Sun. Sun does not set for 70 days. The sound of silence combined with the revitalizing rays of the Midnight Sun is nature’s own remedy for the weary soul. With us you can enjoy the nature and do day trips combining activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, fishing. Summer begins in early June. The autumn colours are its best in Septemper.

SAUNATOUR – Authentic Finnish Sauna Experience

Built on pure nature, wild creativity and arctic tradition, SAUNATOUR is truly something else than a trip to the nearby spa!

SAUNATOUR programmes are always guided and are suitable for everyone from kids to grandparents. Have a true Finnish Sauna experience with different saunas like the traditional smoke sauna, SaunaYoga or the unique ice sauna, and pamper yourself with sauna treatments with wild herbs and old Finnish remedies. Your wilderness wellbeing holiday will be complete with Wild Food meals, unique accommodation and all-inclusive service packages tailored to your wishes.

Feel the Horse

When you arrive at Lucky Ranch, we'll introduce you to our horses. After saddling up in the stable, we'll move to the round pen and let the horse free. You'll learn how to communicate with the horse as you would in a wild herd. Then we do some exercises that keep the horse flexible and in balance. Once you feel comfortable, it's time to get in the saddle. Our Quarterhorse Roy and Appalosa Oliver are trained Western Horses, and they will teach you how to ride Western Style. Afterwards we will enjoy a hot beverage by the open fire and talk about your experience.

Visit the Forest on a Bicycle

You will also see a variety of lifestyles and housing that blend forest and wildlife with everyday life in our beautiful capital. The tour includes a snack and coffee break in the woods, where you can take it easy and inhale the fresh air and enjoy the surrounding green bliss.

Kirjakkala Ironmills village was established in 1600's and tells you the story of Finnish industrialization. The environment has been preserved for more than 300 years. Lakeside Sauna Trip with Ice Fishing and Snowshoeing

A day of lakeside fun awaits! First we’ll take you out ice fishing. A professional will instruct you in the proper use of the tools, and if the fish are biting, we’ll put what you catch on the grill. You also have a chance to try one of Lapland’s older forms of traverse in the snow: the snowshoe. Later we'll prepare some fire-grilled sausage, mushroom soup, and more. After our time out in the snow, we retreat to a lakeside sauna, just on the other side of the lake. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a dip in the hole in the ice just outside the sauna!

The cottages, rooms and apartments are well-equipped with their own beach, a rowing boat, sauna as well as privacy.

Isojärvi National Park

The wooded hills and valleys around Lake Isojärvi bear traces left by both two-legged and four-legged loggers. Old cycle paths lead to former lumberjacks' cabins and croft houses. The only loggers working in the park today are beavers. It's hard to spot these shy animals, but you can't miss the impressive results of their labour.
