Enjoy the Midnight Sun

The nightless night in Lapland is magical. We organise many opportunities for adventure under the midnight sun. You can admire the bright magical nights on a horseback ride or in a horse-drawn carriage. Or, if you prefer motors to horses, you can take one of our quad bikes and drive towards the sun. We'll even organise a car ride straight to the peak of Mount Kaunispää, if that's what you prefer.

Feel the Horse

When you arrive at Lucky Ranch, we'll introduce you to our horses. After saddling up in the stable, we'll move to the round pen and let the horse free. You'll learn how to communicate with the horse as you would in a wild herd. Then we do some exercises that keep the horse flexible and in balance. Once you feel comfortable, it's time to get in the saddle. Our Quarterhorse Roy and Appalosa Oliver are trained Western Horses, and they will teach you how to ride Western Style. Afterwards we will enjoy a hot beverage by the open fire and talk about your experience.

Finnish Forest Experience with Ponies and Berries

This guided tour will take you in to the forest. During this guided tour you will meet a local horse stable owner and get familiar with stables' animals (dogs, horses and cats). There is also a possibility for horseback riding. Depending on the season you will find blueberries and lingonberries.

Horse Riding in the Forest

Once at the stable, we will choose a suitable horse for you. Once the horses are saddled and we have agreed on the common rules, we head into Lapland’s clean forests and fell scenery on calm and reliable Finnish horses. The pace is adjusted according to the abilities of the riders and the weather. The tour is suitable for beginners. The price includes a helmet and a guide. Duration about 90 minutes, of which about 1 hour riding time. Max 7 people per group.

Midnight Horse Riding

Our Icelandic horses live in the immediate vicinity of Levi Centre, and we organise riding treks into the countryside for all riding enthusiasts in Levi's wonderful fell scenery. The horses are small, cute and charming, yet strong, tough and sure-footed. The children's age limit is 12 yrs, unless they have previous experience of riding treks. The riders’ weight limit is 80-90kg. The duration of the trek is about 2 hrs.

Riding Trek on Icelandic Horses

We will take you on a one-hour riding trek on Icelandic horses through the nearby countryside. The horses are small, cute and charming, yet strong, tough and sure-footed. Children need to be at least 12 years old unless they have previous experience of riding treks. The horses can carry riders up to 90 kg. Duration about 1 hour.

Summer/Autumn – Horse Safaris

The rolling fells of Lapland are made for horse riding. The vast landscapes and the great silence make this horse safari a truly exceptional and captivating experience. Roaming the wide-open wilderness on a Finnish horse, you’ll find it hard to avoid the feeling of a little cowboy – or cowgirl – awakening within you. Children also have a chance to ride on Icelandic horses.

The Peak of Levi

Ride to the top of Levi fell with original Finnhorses. We organize a riding trip to the top of Levi, where we enjoy a lunch and an amazing view. Please notice that a certain level of riding is required because of the steep uphills and downhills.

Two-Day Trail Riding

Experience two-day trail riding in the authentic Levi landscape with original Finnhorses and our guide. Stay overnight in Galleria&Kievari Raekallio in Pöntsö. Also suitable for beginners.

Winter Horseback Riding and Sleigh Rides

Winter horseback riding is well worth a try, even without any previous experience. It is suitable for children as well. Finnish Christmas comes to life in a special way when riding on a sleigh, with the snowy forest around you, the sound of the bells tinkling in your ears, and the comfort of warm blankets covering you.

“For horse lovers” –Horse trekking

This is a great way to explore traditional Finnish countryside! The package includes accommodation (for two nights) at Niittyniemi Cottages, two days of horse riding (approximately 30-40 kilometers per day), meals, and two friendly guides, as well as good-mannered horses, of course!
