Rokua National park

When you explore the esker ridges, sandhills and kettle hole lakes of Rokua, it's easy to see clear traces of the Ice Age – this is why this area forms part of Finland's first UNESCO Geopark. Family-friendly trails lead off through the park's wooded sandhills, where the forest floor is blanketed with silvery lichens. Kettle hole lakes nestling in sandy hollows are scattered through the park.

Bird Watching - A Guided Trip to the Delta

The river delta of Kokemäenjoki is the best area in the whole Nordic regarding bird watching. Wetland and silt areas in the west coast of Finland are the most popular migration routes to birds. In this area there are many bird watching towers, which are Finnish specialities to watch birds. Our professional guides will take you every morning to the best places to watch the birds. After midday you have time on your own to explore more birds or other activities nearby.

Wilderness Cabin Holiday

Villa Ulpu offers accommodation in a beautiful timber cabin for a maximum of 8 people. The cabin is located at a peaceful location in the forest by the clean Hakolammi pond, and is fully equipped with running water and electricity. You can enjoy two saunas and a private dock by the pond, an indoor toilet, and a shower. Two balconies and a large covered terrace face the pond. Pillows and blankets are included, linen can be rented for an extra fee. The open kitchen has tableware, a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, oven and stove. Extra services available by request.

Have you ever kissed a moose? We have tame elgs at park, as well as reindeer and deer. There's also an old fashioned Finnish restaurant with locally produced wild food.

Treetop Adventure

Whether on your own or with a friend or group, you will always be welcome to enjoy an experience of wild adventure at Treetop Adventure Huippu. Or why not spend an unforgettable day out with your colleagues or team? To top off the day, we offer delicious outdoor meals and packages with team building activities or meeting facilities through our partners. All adventurers should be at least six years old. The required minimum height is 100 cm. Tackling challenges on the high rope courses is not recommended during pregnancy.

Have you ever wanted to unearth some hidden gemstones? Here is your chance! The Lampivaara Amethyst Mine will provide the tools and guidance you need to dig up your very own amethyst! We’ll walk up to the top of Lampivaara, where a beautiful view and the amethyst mine await you. Here you will use the tools of the trade, assisted by professionals, to dig up amethysts, and then you get to bring one of your finds home with you! With your find secured, we’ll head down to cook a meal over the open fire: sausages, mushroom soup, and blueberry tea! After this, we return you to your hotel.

Hunting Northern Lights

There can be few better ways to witness an autumn Aurora than from one of the Aurora Camps near Lake Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland. While the Northern Lights dance above your head, they can also be reflected in the calm waters of Finland’s third largest lake – simply breathtaking. To witness these wonderful reflections you must head to Lapland before winter sets in and the lake freezes. You can enjoy a traditional meal of reindeer sausages and some blueberry tea, all the while watching those wondrous lights in the sky, the Aurora Borealis!

Cosy Finnish Sauna Evening

Visit a Finnish home and experience an authentic sauna, if you dare. Your host explains the traditions and procedures involved. Snacks and beverages will be served. Bigger groups are divided to several homes. Optimal number of guests is 1–4 persons.

Cosy Finnish Mölkky Evening

Mölkky is a Finnish game played with throwing pins. It is easy and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. During the Mölkky Evening you will learn to play the game with your local hosts. You are invited to their home to have a snack and beverages during the game evening. Most homes can host 1–4 guests, some up to ten. Bigger groups are divided to several locations. Mölkky is an outside game and can be replaced by indoors activity if the weather is poor. No special clothing is needed; comfort is key.

Lakeside Cottages in Jokiniemi

Rent a lakeside cottage in Jokiniemi, close to nature and far from the rush. We have 7 cozy cottages by Lake Onkivesi. We also offer B&B in our guesthouse. The cottages sit on a peninsula, not too close to each other. Relaxation and silence are our main attractions, but you can also swim, row a boat, and enjoy a sauna. The lake is great for fishing as well. Summer is fantastic, but autumn, winter, and spring also have a lot to offer. Picking mushroom and berries, Finnish Christmas, snow and Northern Lights, visiting local attractions... We are happy to give You tips – welcome!

Magical Day of Ice with Icebreaker Sampo, SnowCastle and More

The formidable Sampo, an icebreaker formerly deployed by the Finnish government, now in use for a unique cruise experience on the Bothnian Gulf. Experience the open Arctic waters, where steel and ice meet the sea. The drive out to Kemi from your hotel will take between 90 minutes and 2 hours, and you’ll board the Sampo at the Kemi Ajos Harbour. You will be guided as the ship cruises down onto the Bothnian Gulf and you will have a chance to float in the water using a floatation rescue suit. A lunch of salmon- or reindeer soup is also included.

Ice Spa and a Tepee 'Kota' Sauna with Hot Tubs in Nuuksio

Water +4 degrees, starlit sky, surrounding forest covered in snow. The Spa guests wear immersion suits when floating in a forest pond (hole in the ice). After floating you can relax your body and soul in a wood heated sauna and hot tubs inside a Lappish tepee ”kota” sauna.

Cottage Holiday

For over 50 years, we have provided accommodation in Naaranlahti, in the comfort and peace of Lake Puruvesi. Our private cottages are well equipped with their own beach, rowing boat, and sauna. On top of rest and relaxation, you can enjoy all kinds of activities in Naaranlahti: the nearby forests offer trekking and horseback riding possibilities, and you can rent canoes, rowing and motor boats, fishing equipment, skiing equipment and snow mobiles. In the autumn the area around the cottages is great for berry and mushroom picking.

Southern Konnevesi National Park

At the Southern Konnevesi National Park visitors can enjoy the wide open waters on a boat or canoe, navigating through a maze of islands among smooth glacial rocks and vertical rock walls. You can glimpse through the clear waters and into the depths that harbour the wild brown trout. Breathtaking contrasts characterise this national park. You can trek from herb-rich forests to high cliffs for a view over the magnificent landscape of the osprey.
