Turku Music Festival

Explore the Turku Music Festival, one of the oldest music festivals in Finland! The versatile city festival provides top class music for a wide range of tastes, including major orchestral concerts, chamber music, recitals, jazz and concerts for children. Since its foundation in 1960, the annual festival has provided high quality events every August. Each year the festival gathers leading Finnish and international artists such as Jonas Kaufmann, Mariinsky Theater Orchestra with Valery Gergiev, Rolando Villazón, Donna Leon, Seoul Philharmonic and Elīna Garanča.

Arctic Husky Hike - Guided Husky Walk in Nuuksio National Park

Walk in the peaceful Finnish forest pulled by one of our friendly Siberian huskies. Our experienced nature guide and our lovable dogs will guide you through a nice hike in the beautiful forests of Nuuksio National Park, Espoo. You’ll hear stories about Finnish nature and huskies. What a splendid time to enjoy the silence and pureness of Finnish nature! We’ll walk a nice track of 3-7km, passing many lakes. We'll have a nice break by the fire cooking sausages and tasty coffee/tea/juice. The duration of the hike is 3 hours.

Pyhä-Häkki National Park

Take a stroll through the best preserved old-growth forests in Southern Finland. See 400-year-old pine trees that bear scars of ancient forest fires. These forests give you a sense of timelessness, encouraging you to slow down and savour your surroundings. The residents of the old croft at Poika-Aho surely told their children tales of trolls and elves who lived out in the wild woods.

Pancakes and Berry Picking in Pure Nature

Rovaniemi is an ideal place for berry and mushroom picking. Berry picking is a great way of enjoying the outdoors and unwinding in the midst of natural beauty. Wild berries are available almost all summer – blueberries and cloudberries ripen first, while lingonberries and cranberries arrive in late summer and autumn. We will start along the hiking path, but soon you can experience walking in moss-covered ground. The guide will tell you about the basics of the fresh food ingredients which you can collect from pure nature.

Salpalinja History and Bunkers – Guided Tour

Salpalinjan Hovi is located on top of the Salpalinja defense line that was built in the 1940s to protect Finland from the Soviet Union. You can find two underground machine gun bunkers and an enormous three-story lodging-cave very close to the hotel, borrowed into the rock. According to different sources, the cave was supposed to accommodate 60 to 100 soldiers. While staying at Salpalinjan Hovi, you can explore these remarkable sites of Finnish war history with an expert guide.

Villa Marsalkka at Vuokatin Aateli

In the winter, you can ski right to the slopes from the villa. Villa Marsalkka (127 m²) accommodates 12 persons. The villa has two living rooms, four separate bedrooms, two toilets, utility room, spacious sauna and bathroom with two showers. The extendable dining table seats 12 persons. The spacious terrace and balcony face the slopes. From the sauna, you can step outside to the porch or to the gazebo in the garden to cool off.

Manor restaurant Ylhän Kartano is a picturesque place to visit, just few steps from Spa Hotel Päiväkumpu. It is standing in between grand old apple trees that provide fresh apples to Päiväkumpu's kitchen every autumn. The building's history is interesting, and the place breathes old times charm and stories from visits through years. The package includes coffee or tea with a pastry in our idyllic salon, where the café's ladies greet you with a smile.

Experience the Finnish culture through an authentic evening full of traditional activities and food. Together we start heating up the sauna and prepare a delicious fire-glazed salmon dinner on open fire. It takes about 1 hour for the sauna to heat up. You can also play fun outdoor games and put your fish catching skills to the test! Then you can relax in a hot sauna and take a dip in the refreshing water of a wilderness lake. Afterwards we will enjoy our dinner while savoring the gorgeous nature.

The Linnanmäki Amusement Park has entertained families since 1950. The amusement park has an enormous selection of fun rides, from ultra scary to more easy-going. The vintage wooden rollercoaster is over 50 years old and remains the park's most popular ride. Linnanmäki also has many arcade halls with the latest games as well as an outdoor stage with entertaining performances. The park has been supporting child welfare work in Finland for over 60 years.
