A Summer to Remember at Metsis

A Visit to Santa Claus Village and a Husky Farm in Rovaniemi

Our excursion begins with a car transfer to Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle where you can visit the numerous souvenir shops, send Christmas cards from the Santa Claus' main post office and surely meet the man himself. The tour continues to a local husky farm where you will be welcomed by the barking dogs and get a guided tour of the farm and enjoy the thrill of a brisk husky ride on wheels. Following the ride, you can relax and enjoy some coffee and biscuits in a tepee and hear interesting tales of the life at the husky farm.

A Visit to Santa's Village and Snowmobiling to a Local Reindeer Farm

Experience and discover the secrets of Santa Claus and his little helpers! Meet Mr. Father Christmas himself, visit the official Santa Claus main post office on the Arctic Circle, do some souvenir shopping in Santa Claus Village and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterwards we head for the snowmobiles and drive to an authentic reindeer farm. Meet the reindeer herders and try a short reindeer sleigh ride, as well as take part in a crossing the arctic circle ceremony. After an unforgettable day we return back to the city by snowmobiles by driving into snow covered forest and frozen rivers & lakes.

Adventure Island

As soon as you reach the Adventure Island, get hold of your Treasure Map and start your own holiday adventure! The Treasure Map gives you tips guiding you step-by-step towards the Adventure Island treasure. To get there, however, you have to complete 6 different tasks. While looking for the treasure, you learn new skills. Tasks in the treasure hunt can be adjusted according to age and the seasons.

Adventure Park Ticket

Laajis has one of the biggest adventure parks in the nordic countries. The area has more than 1km of climbing courses in the forest and +1km climbing on the poles in the open ground with long zip lines and challenging elements. Aqua Park

Aqua Park Flamingo offers thrilling moments for all lovers of action-packed water games. Inside the water park, you will find different kinds of pools and slides, as well as our pool side restaurant, Spa Cafe, which is licensed to serve alcohol. In connection with the showers, there is also a Finnish sauna. Come and experience our dizzying water slides or enjoy yourself in the warm waters of our pools. Archipelago Route to Kustavi - Fabulous Cruise from Naantali

Fabulous crossing on board the M/S Aavatar in summer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The enchanting route from Naantali, via Taivassalo to Kustavi is a shortcut for cyclists and a mini cruise for others spending time in the archipelago; there is a variety of magnificent destinations along the way for day and overnight trips. You can buy beverages (fully licensed) and small snacks on board.

Arctic Adventure Park Huima

The Arctic Adventure Park Huima is located right at the Arctic Circle and it has ten different courses of varying difficulty – up to seven meters above ground. Adventurers move between living trees using ropes, beams, bridges and nets that are spanned from tree to tree. Arctic Adventure Park Huima – Great fun for the whole family!

Arctic Zoo - A Day in Ranua Wildlife Park

Ranua Wildlife Park lays deep in an arctic forest an hour's drive away from Rovaniemi city. Ranua Zoo is an outdoor park where we navigate on a wooden path through a forest area hosting a home for approximately 50 different species and 200 arctic animals such as the Lappish grouse and grey owl, polar bears, lynxes, foxes, the reindeer, wild boar and wolverine, just to mention few. During the guided tour around the park we become acquainted with the animals and their lives in arctic conditions.

Aurora Safari

Experience the glow of the northern lights! We will depart, when the darkness falls. Out in the wilderness we keep our eyes on the ever-changing skies. If we are lucky we will catch a glimpse of the northern lights. The safari covers about 35km's and lasts for 2-3 hours. During the safari we will serve warm drinks.

Beaver Trip – Canoeing

Get familiar with the basics of indian canoeing and visit an area populated by beavers. The trip lasts about 2 hours and includes canoe hire for the rest of the day.

Brain Package to Heureka

Heureka – The Finnish Science Centre provides joy of discovery and fun experiences for all ages! Heureka introduces the public to science and technology in an engaging and interactive way. Visitors can experience the joy of discovery through spectacular exhibitions, planetarium films and events. This package includes an overnight stay in Hotel Arthur, a buffet breakfast and one entrance ticket to the Science Centre.

Canoeing on Lake Immeljärvi

Canoeing is a fun and easy way to move around in nature. Our guide teaches you the paddling technique and how to handle a canoe in theory, and then in practice on the peaceful waters of Lake Immeljärvi. This course is suitable for beginners and includes canoeing equipment and guide services. Duration about 90 minutes.

Crazy About Animals – Guided Pet Farm Visit

The Kompiainen Pet Farm in Levi hosts a number of animals who would love your visit, including Jekku, our very sociable reindeer. In the wintertime we are a Winter Wonder Farm – providing snowy experiences on a farm visit. Price includes: tour of the farm with English speaking animal carer, juice and sweets. Our sledding hill, kick-sled track and snowman ingredients are also included. Pony or reindeer rides are possible at an additional cost. Available from Tuesday to Saturday at 11.00. Duration 90 minutes.

Down on the Farm

Take a glimpse into life in the countryside. We will travel through the countryside in southern Lapland for a visit to a modern sheep farm. You will see the animals in their abodes and take part in some of the daily activities at the farm. The farm also houses skilled sheepdogs. During the visit, our hosts will tell us about their work and what life is like on the farm and in the countryside. As house guests, we will be served a lunch of mainly mutton and organic produce from the farm that the hostess prepares herself. Wool handicrafts made on the farm are also available for purchase.

Entertainment Centre Flamingo

The biggest entertainment centre in Scandinavia is located in the Metropolitan area (Vantaa) right next to the Jumbo shopping center, the biggest in the region. Flamingo provides some serious fun for locals and visitors alike. All indoor attractions are open around the year. Flamingo houses a hotel, a water park and spa, a variety of leisure activities (e.g. bowling, glow golfing and laser adventures), restaurants, shops and wellness services. Welcome!

Environmentally Friendly Farm Holiday in South-Western Finland

Evening Husky Tour

As evening falls, we head towards adventure. Animals are restless in the forest – are they waiting for us? Every now and then, we switch our headlamps off and continue under the moonlight or flaming Northern Lights. We sit around a campfire, taste local delicacies and have something hot to drink.

Experience Village Elves' Hideaway

This newly opened Experience Village offers a magical journey in the world of elves in the beautiful countryside settings of the Köngäs village, only 8 km from the Levi centre. Here local traditions and culture are experienced via playful stories in different activities. For the individual traveller, we offer a guided tour all year round, 2 to 4 times a week. During this tour, the Elf in the Yellow Dress will take you for a walk in the forest and share her tales and stories of nature and the lives of elves. There is a cafeteria in the area.

Family Fun at Kirjurinluoto Park

Kirjurinluoto is a lush park area right by the city centre of Pori. It is a popular location for summer frolicking and a great family destination. You can reach Kirjurinluoto by car or foot or take the fun city train Poritar. The three-hectare play park for children, traffic park, exhibition gardens, scenic outdoor routes, a beach by the river and a chance to encounter various animals – this park provides things to do for days. The park and play areas are free to enter and use.
