Wintertime Amethyst Mine Visit

Have you ever wanted to unearth some hidden gemstones? Here is your chance! The Lampivaara Amethyst mine provides you the tools and guidance you need to dig up your very own amethyst! Ride the snowcat (a large treaded snow vehicle) up to the top of Lampivaara, where a beautiful view and the amethyst mine await you. Here you will use the tools of the trade, assisted by professionals, to dig up amethysts, and then you get to bring one of your finds home with you! If you’re lucky, you may even see the Northern Lights during kaamos (Polar Night)!

River Rafting Family Route

Family friendly river excursion with 7 easy-going rapids. River rafting family route Käylä-Juume. You meet your guide in our summer office Juuma village, where you get all the equipment needed. Your guide will give you safety instructions before heading off to the river. The route follows river Kitka from Käylä back to Juuma where we started from. On this 14 km route you will experience 7 rapids and beautiful surroundings.

Santamus evening

This is the most famous and mysterious restaurant in Lapland. The restaurant is famous not only because of its unique location at the Santa Claus Village on Arctic Circle, but also due its one of a kind design. You will walk into a fairy tale, where you will see a raging river with splashing trout and a spruce forest along the shores. Footbridges, wooden walls, and fireplaces create a unique atmosphere, and many other surprises await you! During the evening, you will hear traditional Finnish musical instruments and also a very non-traditional musical instrument – the saw!

Excursion to Santa Claus Village

Santa Claus Village is a magical place all year round, for both children and adults alike. After posting letters at Santa's Post Office, you can buy gifts and souvenirs. In winter, you can experience a short safari in a sleigh pulled by reindeer or huskies and ride a sledge downhill. Of course, you will meet Santa Claus and share your dreams and wishes with him. Don't forget to cross the Arctic Circle! Take a photograph of this important event and remember to get a certificate as a proof. Afterwards we will visit Santa Park, a unique Christmas-themed amusement complex built in a cave.

Linnanmäki Amusement Park

The Linnanmäki Amusement Park has entertained families since 1950. The amusement park has an enormous selection of fun rides, from ultra scary to more easy-going. The vintage wooden rollercoaster is over 50 years old and remains the park's most popular ride. Linnanmäki also has many arcade halls with the latest games as well as an outdoor stage with entertaining performances. The park has been supporting child welfare work in Finland for over 60 years. We recommend a one-day wristband which includes all rides – have fun!

Crazy About Animals – Guided Pet Farm Visit

The Kompiainen Pet Farm in Levi hosts a number of animals who would love your visit, including Jekku, our very sociable reindeer. In the wintertime we are a Winter Wonder Farm – providing snowy experiences on a farm visit. Price includes: tour of the farm with English speaking animal carer, juice and sweets. Our sledding hill, kick-sled track and snowman ingredients are also included. Pony or reindeer rides are possible at an additional cost. Available from Tuesday to Saturday at 11.00. Duration 90 minutes.

Family Self-drive Tour in Finland: Naantali, Åland and Helsinki

This is an amazing adventure holiday for a family with children under 12 years! You will make a roundtrip in western Finland starting from Helsinki and experience the lake life in Lohja, make a visit to the Moominworld as well as Kastelholm castle. To top the trip off, there will be an activity day spent in SmartPark. Last but not least, the journey finishes with two days cruising around Helsinki.

The Moomin Museum is a new, experimental art museum based on the unique collection of Moomin art by Tove Jansson (1914–2001). The Museum is situated at Tampere Hall in Tampere. Check opening hours and admission fees on our website.

The Krapi Barn hosts an art gallery maintained by a mysterious art supporter. You and your friends have 60 minutes to discover the most closely-guarded secrets of the Lake Tuusula area. The game is suitable for anyone who wants to play and solve puzzles together. 2 to 6 people can play at the same time. Turn on the fun! SeikkailuSveitsi Adventure Park offers a pleasant and safe adventuring experience.only 54 km (about 30-minute drive) from Helsinki. Särkänniemi Amusement Park

Särkänniemi is home to dozens of rides that provide fun for visitors of any age. Take a wild ride in the Tornado, Surge or other rides. They’ll offer speed, spinning and splashes for the daredevils, while there are plenty of options for those who prefer more sedate rides. The newest ride X rises to over 30 metres and spins the passengers upside down. In addition, there are other attractions like Doghill, Angry Birds Land, Planetarium, Aquarium and the Näsinneula observation tower. Särkänniemi is more than just an amusement park!

With your find secured, we’ll head down to cook a meal over the open fire: sausages, mushroom soup, and blueberry tea! After this, we return you to your hotel.

Hiking Trip and Visit to a Reindeer Park in Nuuksio National Park

This tour takes you for a relaxing nature hike in the peaceful, clean and wild forests of wintertime Finland. You will also see a glimpse of Lapland near Helsinki, when we visit a reindeer park in the Nuuksio National Park. The trip includes transportation and we can start the trip from your hotel in Helsinki, at the Port or from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Northern Light Hunting on Snowshoes

Seeing the Northern lights is an experience beyond description, one that you will never forget.The best locations for hunting the Northern Lights are very easily accessible on snowshoes. Total darkness and silence in the middle of a snowy forest create an expectant atmosphere that makes the hunt even more exciting. Our experienced guide leads you safely to places where you have a good chance to see the Northern Lights. You will also learn interesting facts about the Northern Lights as well as Lappish nature and history.

Santa's Workshop in Tonttula Experience Village (December only)

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the elves that take you around the area. The tour begins with a visit to the elves’ homes where you get to take a peek at how elves live. You continue to the cottage by the riverbank where you have a chance to hear the elves’ songs. You will bake delicious gingerbread cookies and make decorations, such as snowflakes and elves. You can also go tobogganing, play elves’ football, and finally visit the horses and reindeer that live in the area. The highlight of the tour is of course meeting Santa Claus himself.

Children's Winter Park

The Porokylä Winter Park gives the whole family a chance to play in the snow. The entrance fee includes the use of the carousel sled, snow shoes, children’s snowmobiles and toboggan slide. The cafeteria provides warm drinks, which you can enjoy by the fireplace. During Christmas, Santa will visit Porokylä and the reindeers. The park is open in December–March depending on snow conditions. See the opening hours on our website!

Swim Like a Local at Ahvenisto Open-Air Pool

Olympic spirit is omnipresent at the newly renovated open-air pool of Ahvenisto. This outstanding pool was selected as the Sports Venue of the year for 2017. There are Wibit water park elements in the pool to ensure good times for smaller aquaphiles. The Ahvenisto area is a popular destination for summer trips and a refreshing dip in the pool after exploring the nature path of Ahvenisto is a true Finnish summer experience.
