Mechanical Music Museum

The only Mechanical Music Museum in Finland is located in Varkaus along the main road 5 in the heart of the enchantingly beautiful Finnish lake district. It is the largest museum of its kind in Scandinavia and one of only 40 such museums in the whole world. Here the music world of mechanical musical instruments of times gone by comes alive once again: music boxes, mechanical pianos, violins and accordions, hurdy-gurdies from small hand organs to the magnificent Amadeus Street organ, the 75-man Popper Goliath: the world´s largest orchestrion, as well as numerous gramophones and juke boxes used for reproducing and storing music.
