This 120 km long paddling trail starts at the Old Petäjävesi Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and continues through picturesque lakeland scenery via Jämsä to Jyväskylä.
The first half of the tour (Petäjävesi-Jämsänkoski, 55km) passes through small rapids and narrow lakes with slight stream. After Jämsänkoski, the tour enters to Päijänne the second largest (1080 sqkm) and the deepest (98 m) lake in Finland. In this section to be found the second UNESCO World Heritage site, a check point of the Struve Geodetic Arc. It is worth crossing the lake and visit the Vaarunvuori Nature Reserve, which represents a unique microclimate in this latitude.
