If you are interested in prehistoric sites, we recommend a detour via Lappi and Eura along route 43. Kauttua is an idyllic village about 3 km from Eura with an old industrial heritage milieu and a few buildings designed by the architect Alvar Aalto (such as Villa Ahlström and Terrace House.) The archaeological site of Sammallahdenmäki, included on the UNESCO list of world heritage sites, is situated in Lappi, 17 km east of Rauma. From Kauttua the tour continues along route 43 to Harjavalta. Here you will find the Emil Cedercreutz Museum, which houses a significant collection of works by the sculptor Emil Cedercreutz and an ethnological collection of agricultural tools and arts and crafts. From Harjavalta you can continue along route 2 to Pori.
