Border Formalities

On the basis of the Schengen agreement the border crossing to and from Norway and Sweden is possible anywhere along the border when exporting or importing only duty-free goods.


The Finnish-Russian border can only be crossed by road at the following official points:

There is a restricted zone spanning the Finnish-Russian border with a maximum width of 3 km on land and 4 km at sea. Permission to reside in that area must be granted by the Frontier Guard.
