There has recently been a renaissance of spa treatment in Finland.The present-day spa establishment is in essence a modern hotel with up-to-date specialized equipment, staffed by trained doctors and nurses.

Finnish Health Spas

The spas operate mainly as boarding establishments, and they provide various kinds of health baths, natural treatments and physical therapy. Cosmetological treatments are usually also offered. A stay in a spa, however, can also just be a pleasant holiday with the added advantage of special treatment tailor-made for the individual holidaymaker.

Spas also offer packages of different lengths. These include slimming, fasting, beauty treatment, rehabilitation, relaxation or recreation packages. A one-day stay at a spa in a double room with treatment and half board costs from 50 to 84 euros per person, a weekend package with half board from 67 to 151 euros per person and a week's package with half board from 252 to 590 euros per person, depending on the number and type of treatments included.

Families with children are also very welcome. Many spas offer lots of fun for children and they have special programmes for them during the summer and other school holidays.

Many of the spas have full congress facilities.
