Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport
This is your most likely point of international arrival if you are travelling to Finland by air. Although the Lapland airports of Rovaniemi and Kittilä are increasingly popular for winter visitors.

Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport is a modern, busy but efficient hub and the base airport in Finland. The airport resembles a bustling small town with its variety of shops and services.
Domestic flights operate to/from T1 except flights to/from Mariehamn in T2. International flights operate to/from T2.
Transportation to/from the City of Helsinki
Finnair operates its own bus service between the airport, which is about 19 kilometers north of the city centre and the main Railway Station. The fare is about 5 euros, or free for the holders of the Helsinki Card.
There are also slightly cheaper public service buses between the airport and the Railway Station (numbers 615, 615N, 615T, 415 and 451).
Regular taxis operate from the rank outside the main arrival areas. Yellow taxis, operating on a share basis, will also take you to or from your destination in the capital area.
Finnair
Finnair, one of the world's oldest operating airlines, was established on 1st of November 1923.
Finnair's route network, depending on the timetable period, covers about 50 international destinations. The company's long-haul routes fly to New York and Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Osaka, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo in Asia. Finnair flies also to 16 destinations within Finland. The domestic route network is one of the densest in the world in relation to population.
In addition to regular scheduled traffic, Finnair operates leisure flights to more than 60 destinations. Leisure traffic flies mainly to holiday resorts in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, South-East Asia as well in the Caribbean and South America.
Other Airlines
Blue 1, an SAS subsidiary, is another significant domestic operator, and other international airlines operating to and from Helsinki include British Airways and Lufthansa.
