Additional Tour: Pohja - Tammisaari (Ekenäs) - Hanko (Hangö)

POHJA > TAMMISAARI (EKENÄS) (20 km)

In Tammisaari (Ekenäs) you can experience the atmosphere of times gone by when you take a walk past the old wooden houses, built during the 18th and 19th century. You can rent a cottage by the sea or enjoy a boating trip in the beautiful Tammisaari archipelago, which is classified as a national park.

TAMMISAARI (EKENÄS) > HANKO (HANGÖ) (35 km)
Continue on the road 52 to Hanko (Hangö), the southernmost point on the Finnish mainland.

The cape of Hanko (Hangö) was mentioned as a harbour for the first time in the late 13th century. Hanko has fine sandy beaches and boulevards, old villas, apartments and cottages where you can stay overnight or spend an enjoyable holiday by the sea.
A narrow strait called Hauensuoli or the “Pike's Gut” located directly off the coast between two islands, was used as a sheltering harbour from the 15th century onwards. Seafarers carved their names and coats of arms in the rocks of these islands - some 640 carvings have been found and registered. There are daily excursions to the “Pike´s Gut”, which is one of the most popular sights in Hanko.
