Castle Hotel Rantalinna, in Ruokolahti, www.rantalinna.fi.
Rantalinna is one of the most impressive Art Nouveau castles in Finland, located on the southern shore of Lake Suur-Saimaa at Ruokolahti. Natural sandy beaches, canoes, rowing and motor boats, good fishing waters and hunting grounds, tennis and badmington courts, and excellent hiking grounds in the vicinity invite the visitors to be active during their holiday. Only a few kilometres from the hotel lies the 18-hole Imatra Golf.
Hotel Ruusuhovi, in Rantasalmi, www.hotelliruusuhovi.fi.
The manor house hotel Ruusuhovi is situated next to a nine-hole golf course. The nearby Linnansaari National Park offers activities in the nature. In Savonlinna, we recommend a visit in the medieval Castle of Olavinlinna, a cruise on one of the cruise ships or an opera performance during the Savonlinna Opera Festival in July. In the nearby Kerimäki, you can have a look at the world’s largest wooden church. The Art Centre Retretti and Lusto, the Finnish Forest Museum in Punkaharju are further sights worth visiting. |
