In Finlandia vi sono circa 300 fattorie dove è possibile trascorrere una lieta, sana vacanza. Generalmente esse si trovano in luoghi ameni, in prossimità di un lago e offrono la possibilità di svaghi diversi, come quello di prendere parte ai lavori di campagna, alla cura del bestiame, oppure semplicemente di fare delle passeggiate nelle foreste, pescare, remare, raccogliere funghi ecc.

In media possono ospitare fino a 15 persone per volta, alcune sono in grado di accoglierne fino a 60. Gli alloggi sono situati negli edifici principali, nei rustici e nei cottage con possibilità di cucinare. I prezzi sono in rapporto al numero di stelle di classificazione (da 1 a 5) che riflettono il comfort, il livello ed il numero dei servizi igienici in rapporto al numero degli ospiti ed anche possibilità di attività sportive e ricreative proposte.
Gli ospiti possono scegliere tra la pensione completa, la mezza pensione e il bed&breakfast. La mezza pensione costa a partire da EURO 46 al giorno per adulto e comprende la prima colazione e la cena. La pensione completa costa a partire da EURO 56 . Nel prezzo è compresa la biancheria e la possibilità di fare la sauna.
