By air and flying times

Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport; This is your most likely point of international arrival if you are travelling to Finland by air. Although the Lapland airports of Rovaniemi and Kittilä are increasingly popular for winter visitors.

All scheduled flights to/from Helsinki are available from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport travel planner service. http://www.helsinki-vantaa.fi/timetables/timetable-search

Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport is a modern, busy but efficient hub and the base airport in Finland. The airport resembles a bustling small town with its variety of shops and services.

Airline departure and arrival terminals have changed as of 5 August 2009. You can check your own airline's terminal, contact details, the ways to check in and check-in times by visiting Finavia website: http://www.helsinki-vantaa.fi/airlines.

Transportation to/from the City of Helsinki

Finnair operates its own bus service between the airport, which is about 19 kilometers north of the city centre and the main Railway Station. See the timetable here. The fare is about 6 euros, or free for the holders of the Helsinki Card.

There are also slightly cheaper public service buses between the airport and the Railway Station (numbers 615, 615N, 615T, 415 and 451). See the timetable here.

Regular taxis operate from the rank outside the main arrival areas. Yellow taxis, operating on a share basis, will also take you to or from your destination in the capital area.
