The summer paradise of Helsinki University! In Kumpula botanic garden you can enjoy the atmosphere of the historical lands of Kumpula mansion. You can also do a botanic journey around the world or acquaint yourself with useful plants.
In Kumpula Botanic Garden you can travel around the world in 80 minutes. The geographical section of the garden takes you from Europe through North America to the Far East. On the way you will see bamboo that is still green after the Finnish winter and enjoy the shade under the lianas of the continental Far East. In the section with cultivated species you can find cures to all kinds of ailments and find out where rhubarb and onions where first taken into cultivation.
