Turku Castle - one of Finland's most magnificent national treasures.Turku Castle, dating back to the 1280s, is one of the most outstanding examples of Finland´s national heritage.
The castle´s heyday was in the mid 16th century, during the rule of Duke Johan and Katarina Jagellonica. Today the castle´s exhibitions not only illustrate the history of Turku and Finland but also show the dress, customs and interior decoration styles of past centuries. The castle also offers theme exhibitions, concert and events for kids and adults alike. Medieval woodcarvings are on display in the Castle´s Chapel.
The handsome Bryggman Hall can be rented for conferences. Equipment includes an overhead projector, slide projector, CD player and video. The hall seats 100 persons. Museum shop Fatabur offers a selection of delightful gifts and souvenirs, including goblets, bottles and jewellery made after historical models, literature, postcards etc. Entrance directly from the courtyard.TURKU CASTLE
