Downhill Skiing

Finland has become a top destination for downhill skiing. There's plenty of snow, and in April-May the sun is shining from sixteen to twenty hours a day.

Ski at leisure on the long, gentle slopes, or test your skills on steeper inclines. There are 22 ski resorts In Lapland and northern Finland, 31 in central Finland and 26 in southern Finland. The days of skiing are long in the spring, and most slopes are lit at night during the dark season. And there's plenty of lively after-ski entertainment.

Winter Wonderland

In Lapland the longest slope of 3000 meters is at Ylläs. In central Finland, in Himos, the average length of the slopes is 600-800 meters, with the longest slope at Koli in northern Karelia at 1050 meters. The slopes are kept in excellent condition throughout the season. In Lapland and northern Finland, the season begins in early November and lasts until May, while in central Finland it begins at the end of November and lasts until April. In the south, skiing begins in December and lasts into early April.

Werneri Ski School

Finland has excellent opportunities for beginners, but we also have great resorts for more experienced skiers. Daily ski instruction is available at all the main ski centers, and you can rent skis, poles, boots and helmets. Some resorts even have ski suits for hire.
 
You can meet Werneri at over thirty Finnish ski resorts. Werneri's goal is to teach children to be versatile and multifaceted skiers.
