Kuopio
Kuopio
Kuopio, the largest city in Eastern Finland, is known for its beautiful nature. The scenery captivates with the numerous islands of Lake Kallavesi and the majestic forests of the Puijo Ridge.
This dynamic and pleasant university town attracts travellers all year round.
Kuopio is characterised by forests and lakes. Lake Kallavesi surrounds the city and is a part of the larger Lake District Saimaa. The Puijo Observation Tower is the perfect place to get a breathtaking view of this unique lake district, the largest in Europe: the Tower's restaurant and observation deck are over 200 metres above the level of Lake Kallavesi. Summer is the high season for tourism, and the nightless nights invite you to enjoy the outdoors and the warm waters in lakes are just right for a refreshing swim. Dry and mild winters offer excellent conditions for skiing, skating and other wintertime fun.Boat Cruise on Lake Kallavesi
