Savenkaita has been inhabited since the 1750s, when there was a smokehouse in the yard of the farm.

The present house was built in 1938 in the style of a fronted brick house. The house was last renovated in 1996, respecting the spirit of the old house. The log walls and furnishings of the house are reminiscent of a bygone era. The house's own lakeside sauna on the shores of Lake Savenkaita heats up quickly - a dip in the lake is the crowning touch.

The cottage has a large, log-walled room with baking ovens and a fitted kitchen. Large living room/kitchen (with sofa bed), 2 bedrooms (both with double beds), shower, toilet, electric sauna and gas grill. Water comes from a well. In summer, a small, wood-fired lakeside sauna is at the cottage's disposal on the shore of Lake Savenkaita, approx. 200 m. The shore is hard gravel, shallow and gradually deepening.
