Pyynikki ridge with its pine trees and spectacular scenery is one of Tampere’s most popular recreation areas. The area has outdoor trails, a marked nature trail and an observation tower with its famous dougnuts. Pyynikki ridge is considered the highest gravel ridge in the world (160 meters above sea level). Ridge was chosen as a nationally valuable landscape attraction in 1993.
