Jokilaakso Garden

Jokilaakson garden is a popular summer destination in Lapua, Western Finland. It is located next to Lapua cathedral designed by C.L. Engel.


The garden was established in the turn of the century. The area used to serve as a rural homemaking school. Jokilaakso Garden is filled with beutiful wooden farm buildings and amazing plants, flowers and trees.

Jokilaakso garden takes pride in it's area of useful plants, Yrttimaa. It is one of the biggest show garden of useful plants in Finland. Other larger show area's are conifer garden, rose garden and apple tree garden. In 2018 Jokilaakso established an area of ornamental hay.


Amongst these Jokilaakso garden has perennial plants, bushes, trees and yearly changing summer flower plantings.


Whether you have a large home garden or a little balcony serving as garden you can surely find inspiration for your own use from Jokilaakso Garden.


During the summer we have domestic animals to delight the smallest visitors. On our riverside you can fish, have a picnic or lay on a hammock.


Jokilaakso Garden is about 2 hectares. The garden is free to visit.
