Kalkonniemi beach

From the centre of Kemijärvi a good 10 kilometre from the Kalkonniemi sandy beach is certainly one of the finest beaches in Lapland. It's nice to come here to spend a summer day with your family. Kalkonniemi is suitable for swimming and hiking for the whole family. There is a changing room, a barbecue shelter, a chalk pond and toilets. You can find here something for geocachers too to search for.

Here's how to find your way:

From Kemijärvi, drive towards Salla and at Isokylä turn towards Peräposiontie. Follow Peräposiontie for 3.1 km and then turn right into Imposentie. Continue along this road until you reach Kalkonniemi.
