Renovated Retro Loggers' Lodge Metsäkämppä

Renovated Retro Loggers' Lodge Metsäkämppä is a genuine loggers' lodge from the 1950's. After a hard day of working the loggers of the nearby forest came back here to spend their nights. Like the loggers you can also come here to rest and relax - and forget all your sorrows in its old-style, traditional Finnish sauna. After your sauna, walk outside for a refreshing breath of peaceful nature and the beautiful views of the surrounding nature.

This cottage accommodates a big group: there are 26 bunk beds in 5 rooms. The biggest room ("loggers' room") has 10 beds, big tables and a fire place, kitchen and one toilet inside the house (two ecotoilets outside the building).

The lakeside sauna near the cottage is (slowly) wood-heated and the steam is very smooth. In this very traditional Finnish sauna there are no showers - you use water tubs for washing and the warm water has to be wood-heated in the big water tub. Just the way people used to do it everywhere in Finland in the good old times - and go jump into the lake afterwards!

Located approx. 1,5 kilometers from the main building of Metsäkartano. Reception, restaurant, souvenir shop and activity bookings in the main building.
