Northern Lights Trip to Porovaara Hill

To ensure the best possible chances to experience the northern lights, our excursion takes you about 20 kilometers south of Rovaniemi city, to a hill called Porovaara, located by the shores of the beautiful river Kemijoki. Because of its spot-on location on top of a hill, remoteness from the city lights and the amazing view towards the northern sky, Porovaara’s outdoor terrace is truly made for viewing the northern lights! A nearby cozy Lappish hut will be open throughout the excursion for you to warm up, to enjoy some warm juice and to grill sausages by the open fire. Because we are indeed in Lapland, the tour includes a visit to a nearby reindeer fence and feeding the reindeer with their favorite snacks.
