Vehkalahti Village Museum

From 4 €

The Vehkalahti Village Museum, located in the village of Husula in Hamina, offers experiences for visitors of all ages! The exhibition guides you through the rural villages surrounding the town of Hamina at the turn of the 20th century. Housed in an old, lovingly restored primary school, the exhibition features plenty to see and touch—from traditional folk costumes you can try on to an old-fashioned coffee grinder. You can even sit at a school desk and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a classroom from a hundred years ago.

The museum’s spacious grounds and outbuildings are perfect for a stroll. During the summer, the yard is home to adorable museum sheep and busy bees. If you're lucky, you might even meet a blacksmith at work in the forge!

The museum is regularly open from June through early August, when it also hosts art exhibitions, special events and interactive workshops.

At other times, the museum is open for groups on request.
