Open Studio at UDUMBARA Pottery Studio

Free

This year's theme: Nordic heritage geraniums – we are developing handcrafted, breathable Kultela clay pots designed especially for them.

Welcome to UDUMBARA’s Spring Open Studio!

UDUMBARA is a ceramics studio in Kallio, Helsinki, where they create handmade flower pots and lamps using locally sourced wild clay and honouring traditional craftsmanship.

This spring, UDUMBARA is celebrating Nordic heritage geraniums – plants with a long history in Finnish homes and gardens. We are currently designing breathable, unglazed Kultela clay pots, which provide ideal growing conditions and support plant health naturally. Now is your chance to be part of the process, share your thoughts, and help shape the perfect flower pot!

During the Open Studio, you can:

* Explore UDUMBARA studio and the work

* See the handcrafted ceramics and hear the story behind them

* Discuss local materials, sustainable and ethical craftsmanship

* Experience a creative space where clay comes to life

The event is open to everyone interested in clay, crafts, and plants. If you’ve ever wondered how pottery is made on the wheel or want to learn more about Finnish wild clay, this is an excellent opportunity to ask and discover more!
