Otaniemi-Keilaniemi is an area where technology, innovation, and business meet the significant architecture and nature.


Keilaniemi business centre and the Aalto University campus area, also known for its Alvar Aalto architecture, represent the urbanity of Espoo. Otaniemi and Keilaniemi are located by the metro line. Otaniemi is the largest high-tech campus and research hub in the Nordic countries. The area is also home of Finland’s most renowned start-up accelerators.


Otaniemi is full of history since the Middle Ages. During that time, the village of Otnäs and Björnvik was located in this area. Later, there were two mansions in the area before the area was converted into a campus area in the 1950s. What makes Otaniemi unique is that there are several buildings designed by Alvar Aalto and other famous Finnish architects. These include Reima and Raili Pietilä and Heikki and Kaija Sirén. Otaniemi area is not only a high-tech hub but a fun destination with many restaurants and brewing companies. One of the most known ones is the restaurant Fat Lizard which offers delicious food and local micro breweries´ beer. For staying here for a little longer, there are nice places to stay over, for example, Radisson Blu hotel and Forenom hostel.


Keilaniemi is a remarkable place for business and innovation in Espoo. Keilaniemi district is fast developing and attractive from a living, academic, cultural, and investment point of view. Keilaniemi locates in a beautiful area, on the coast of Espoo within walking distance of Otaniemi. The area is known as the headquarters of the most important and innovative tech companies in Finland.

On summer days, the Water Sport Center Laguuni in Keilaniemi offers fun water sport activities such as kayaking, wakeboarding, electric cycling, and a floating water park. The restaurant gem of the Keilaniemi area is the Lucy in the Sky restaurant, located at over 80 meters. Gaze into the archipelago or admire the urban view of Helsinki and Espoo
